Hey there!
I was inspired by the new celestial stampede box aswell as Caleb hastings in depth Seraphon videos. I have never played AoS but ever since a little kid (in the Warhammer Fantasy days) i have been painting Lizardmen. Recently after 5+ years of no painting i have decided to make my own little stegageddon to finaly learn the rules and get playing some sweet dino-filled games!

I have set up a little 1000 point list to get me started and i will be posting updates on painting and maybe a little converting under the way. Currently thoug im still waiting for the celestial stampede box to arrive.

The army list for now:

Allegiance: Thunder Lizard

Leader:
  • Stegadon with skink chief (250)
- general: Prime warbeast Artefact: fusil of conflagulation
- Skystreak bow

Battleline
  • Stegadon (240)
- Skystreak bow
  • Stegadon (240)
- Skystreak bow

Behemoth
  • Bastiladon (220)
- Solar engine

Extra command point: 1

Total points: 1000

If you have some tips and tactics or general feedback on painting and army list feel free to express it :)

GW Is remaking all the old metal models in resin no? I have never painted one yet but I hear only bad things about them o_O

For me, it was always about the weight. There's something really reassuring about the weight of a metal model. Plus, superglue works much better on metal than plastic/resin. When I started collecting they were lead, which wasn't great. But then they brought out another type of metal and it was okay.

Not fond of the super-lightweight plastic models... :(

I see what you're getting at and yeah definitely a whole other experience with a lead model. I guess the only thing is the limitation in the sculpt itself, but then again those bulky models just hit different:android:

I agree with you. The weigth of the models feels very good in your hand. Though the plastic kits give you more change of converting ;) I am not sure of resin yet. I dread to paint the resin models I have... cleaning up was a pain already.

Another downside: all the flimsy plastic kits do break easier than the metal ones.

Good point on converting, im actually in the middle of restoring an old skink chief with blowpipe, where the bloepipe broke..... tried using green stuff but that didn't last long... Any tips and tricks? Maybe a plastic blowpipe?
 
So the celestial stampede box arrived and damn I'm enjoying myself :D so now it's painting time in-between daily chores, school and work.... Or was it the other way around?

Also I would like to say that I'm really liking the vibe and community on this forum! It's motivating and amazing ( specially during these covid times) how much content one can find here! I also see there is a thriving story-writing group which I will definitely try to take part in in the future! Also being a student of comics I'll definitely post some lizardmen inspired drawings and panels (if there is a specific thread for this please tell me :)).
So yeah in conclusion I'm really greaful to be a part of Lustria online!

Thanks, this is what we strive to be :)
Join in on the story-writing, though I am not the best of a writer it does encourage me to write more.

Drawings and artwork mostly end up in the Fluff and Story section, you could create your own thread of art.
