Blog NIGHTBRINGER's Painting Blog - 1000 point (not so) year end Chaos Dwarfs challenge (78.2%)

Nice looking models. You lucky bastard.
With the fire recipe you did on the hobgoblin base these will look fantastic.
Thanks! That's the scheme I am hoping to implement. Time will tell if it works on a larger scale.

Yeah, no kidding! Just take your time with them.
Slow (or no) painting is what I do!! :D

Beautiful! The metallics on the banner look gorgeous. Loving the glowing armour effects too.
Thank you so much.

I'm glad to hear that you like the glowing armour effects. I was just talking with my wife as to whether or not I should keep them or go with a straight red armor scheme. She likes the glowing effects too, while I'm perpetually struck with self doubt and go back and forth. Good to hear that someone else likes it! :) Appreciate the feedback!!

The glowing armour cracks are really good. Definitely stick with them.

He looks good, man.

Agreeing with all of the above ;)
The armor and the banner go very well together.

Grrr, Imrahil

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement and feedback. Looks like @Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER is right. I guess I'll keep the cracks. :) They do take longer to paint than anything else on the model, but if the effect looks good it's worth it.

She would be glad to hear that ;)
It looks sublime

Just a little bit more gap filling and these guys will be ready to receive their hands/weapons, glued to their base and undercoated.

More progress... the K'daai Fireborn are shaping up. Hands/Weapons are glued and pinned. A few more tiny imperfections to green stuff and they'll be ready for their undercoat (which will be white, an extreme rarity for me).

Wow, these look great!

If it weren't for the rarity of the models currently, I would be tempted to get myself some...

The glory and power bestowed by the mighty Hashut awaits you!

Of course, as you say, the models are exceedingly rare now that FW has discontinued them.

Hopefully my paint scheme will work on them. Now it is time to select one of them to be my painting guinea pig... glory or damnation awaits.
