Canine Lizards!!!

The puppy is a golden doodle and the old one is a golden retriever. This is the puppy now.

My friend has golden doodles. Poodle/golden retriever crossbreeds. Very sweet affectionate dogs. A bit expensive and/or time consuming to groom but other than that they are awesome. The few golden doodles I met are good at learning tricks but they seem to have a learning disability for "fetch." I don't know if that's a breed thing or not.

Rotties are the best! I grew up with two and they are the gentlest yet most protective dogs ever.

Adorable

Rotweilers are very empathetic and reflect the environment they grow up in. If they are raised with kindness, they will be kind dogs. If not, they will be dangerous.

I mean, that's any dog.

But yes I'd say Rottweilers, more than any other dog I've had, are much more intune with their owner and environment than other breeds I've had.

Lol they’re supposed to inherit the intelligence of the poodle but my doodle is dumbest dog ever made. He’s a sweetheart but I guess ignorance is really bliss. My golden on the other hand is the most cunning dog I’ve seen.

Can’t believe I’ve only noticed this thread now!

Our house tends to have quite a lot of dogs in. We have two that are actually ours - Otto:

And Dhala:

However, we also foster dogs that have been brought here to the UK from Romania, where they have significantly less favourable view of the animals (we’ve fostered 29 so far, and the rescue itself has found home for loads more).

Because of this, there are currently four dogs in our house at the moment! Dhala is certainly very pleased with her new toys!

Welcome!

This is my brainchild. I love dogs and thought we were missing a thread where can share about our best friends! :D

They look like very happy dogs! Interesting choice of names. What was the inspiration?

This is a really fantastic thing that you are doing. They are such loving animals that it makes me very angry to think of people abusing them or abandoning them.

Hats off to you, good sir!

Otto already had his name when he arrived and we though it fit him fine. As for Dhala, we have a tradition in our wider family of naming pets after curries! Previously there has been Madras, Rogan (Rogan Josh), Jaffa (Jalfresi) and Pops (Popadom). Dhala (Dhal) was originally called Dotty but we thought it wasn’t quite right for her, and Dhala both fit the bill and allowed us to continue with the family tradition!

Brilliant and inspired.

Name the next one a derivative of Lamb Bhuna please (my personal favourite).
