Kroaq only has one Spell from the Lore list. A Slann with the command trait from Dracothion Tail can have two, but only the generic Slann. Heroes with a name can't have Command Traits or Artifacts.
I didn't realize that Kroak himself was not considered a "Slann" still a bit fuzzy with the newer stuff.
EotG is more a meme heroe since the chance of summoning Saurus is a 25% if you have your Slann nearby and doubling attacks is a 0.5% chance. You'll want both, which means you need to move you Slann/Kroaq, Temple Guard and EotG at the same time, which isn't a good idea since you risk a Deep Strike from your enemy (him making a teleport or a deployment of a unit near you, like Lords of Space and Time ability or Appear on Command skills from our book) or a charge from flying units to your Slann/Kroaq.
This is a good point. Would an old blood on carnosaur work better?
Also, whenever you take Dracothion's Tail, Fangs of Sotek, Koatl's Claw or Thunder Lizar keyword, you MUST take the subfaction artifac as your first one. However if you choose not to get a subfaction, you can take any artifact from the list. If you took a keyword and want to take another artifact, you must buy a battalion and their units.
Looks good. Astrolith Bearer gives you an additional D3 for summoning, 6" extra for Spells and +1 to cast. Starpriest can have Hand of Glory or Celestial Harmony, if you need to pass Battleshock or need to reroll 1s, up to you. Remember that Skinks wizards CAN'T change their spells at the end of your hero phase, like Slanns do.
I'm gonna stick with hand of glory, re-rolling 1's is too good to pass up.
I see you lack screens of Skinks, although you could get them by summoning, to avoid double turns or Deep Strikes. Saurus work good with spears as long as they are more than 20. They get an addiotional attack when they're 15+. As 5 models die easily, you better get clubs, unless you summon 20 with your Slann or EotG and make them charge instantly.
Your Saurus also lack from buffs from a Saurus Hero.
Sallys are indeed broken, LoSaT them in front of a unit and enjoy the screamings. Before GHB 2020, people used to bring 12 Salamanders. Kroxigors look good in paper but they need proper buffs, like +1 to hit or reroll missed hits. In Starborne, they don't have the extra jaw attack, which can translate in a mortal wound.
They are awesome models, but I haven't had good results with it. Maybe I had bad luck.
I'm really quite fond of this model, hopefully I have better luck!
Buy always a normal Balewind Vortex when you have a Slann/Kroaq: one extra spell to cast and +6" to your spells. In addition to your Astrolith bearer, your Celestial Deliverance has a range of 22". You can measure from you Starpriest and the bonuses still aply.
I'm not sure I'll be leaving with many friends after I revamp this list
