Blog Suds Painting & Kitbashes of 2020

:woot::woot::woot:
Wow dude, this is amazing and so well fits the Lumineth army. I like the shoulder armor made from the shields.
Thank you! I'm pretty pleased with it

I reshaped the shield to be a bit more like a Birch Leaf & some shin guards, I think it helps sell the model even more as an Order thing and less of a Beast of Chaos

Still work to be done, but I could call it finished and be happy

Thanks everyone!

I'm thrilled so many like it! I'm thinking of doing light greenstuff work over the chaos markings and then etching in Lumineth runes. To do that... do you let the GS dry a bit and then do it or do it when its fresh with water so the blade doesn't stick?

I'm not so sure, it's very imposing but looks a little TOO big. Anyway, great job Suds!
Admittedly it's a bit big, however the way I see it is that it's a war mask that hides the true face, masks are generally exaggerated in size *shrug*

Thank you! I think after some greenstuff work it'll look rather fitting

So... I have a Slann coming... I have the original Citadel Coatl...

How crazy would it be to combine them somehow....

My motivation for painting has been rather low the past few days, I did however get some work done on my Scinari Cathallar, I can almost call her done.

With the lack of motivation to paint, my motivation to build and prime has increased. Today I primed 3 skinks and 2 kroxigors, the 3 skinks are handlers to my Salamander. I started paintint 1 skink and 1 Kroxigor, but stopped after 1 or 2 coats of base colors.

The most exciting part I think is what I created today in the form of a kitbash :) This is Kitbash #2 for my Hyshian Minotaur race, a Banner Bearer! I think I have also come up with a name for the Race itself, the Hathorians. Named after the Egyptian Goddess Hathor, she is often depicted as a white cow & is also associated with rebirth, nourishment, etc. I'll likely adopt the Egyptian Goddess as their Diety as well, Hesat.

Anyway, I hope you like the kitbash! There is still greenstuff work to be done and I may add 1 or 2 more things, but otherwise they are both done and need to be primed. I need one more Avalenor head to build my third and final model for the unit of 3:)20201021_003249.jpg 20201021_003414.jpg 20201020_213935.jpg

I really like your creations, time in time again. It seems like you have an infamous amount of parts to kitbashing with ;)

What base model did you use for your Banner Bearer?

Grrr, Imrahil

The Hathorians

“There on the brink of destruction, when all hope was lost for the small village of Yriqual Tor in Ilithia, the sound of slaughter was drowned out by massive war horns and a small glimmer of hope was restored as the ground trembled. The Slaaneshi mortals standing over the innocent wounded, dead & dying look up, with their blood-stained teeth grinding their twisted expressions melting away at the sight before them. A thunderous charge from a Hathorian war party sends the chaos raiders into a panic, many being gored with massive horns, trampled under hooves or smashed with massive hammers. Those aelven villagers still alive looked upon the new slaughter, the hunters had quickly become the prey. Just then a portal began to open, and a greater demon of Slaanesh appeared and sorrow again filled the villager's hearts. The Hathorians continued to fight, though they held their own the greater demon began to turn the tide as it ripped through the minotaur race. As the chaos forces regrouped and pushed back the ground below them began to grow feverishly with plant life, species of light bursting vine, flowers that burned with the light of hysh began to spring up and subdue the tainted mortals. A deafening cry let out; a voice full of anger. In a display of blinding light of greens and yellows, the Goddess Haset leapt at the Greater Demon of Slaanesh and gored it with her own horns through the heart, with her weapons cut off each of its four arms and soon sealing the portal to the chaos realm. Seeing the greater demon dispatched the mortals turned and ran, but it was too late as they were ran down or eradicated by magic.” - History of Yriqual Tor, Twin Spirit Peaks of the Ilithia Nation
