Hi, I have played a few games using 30x skinks with priests, and they have performed okay. However, as my local meta (friends) is pretty battleline heavy I feel like I dont have enough battleline to have a chance at objectives, and the skinks feel very "gimmicky" to play and require a lot of support to be effective. Thats why I started thinking about a simpler list using warriors as tarpit units.
My list consists of:
Kroak
Skink chief on Steg (with prime warbeast)
Oldblood on Carno (fusil)
Skink priest (for bastiladons/chief)
Saurus guard x5
Warriors x20
Warriors x20
Salamanders x12
Bastiladon
Bastiladon
Opinions? I like how simple it is as I am a beginner to AOS and on paper at least it doesnt feel as "make it or brake it" as opposed to using skinks as battleline. My biggest concern with this is that the warriors dont have enough protection and get wiped too fast, and I dont know which version of stegadon I should take. I considered adding a min unit of skinks for objectives but last time I did that they got one shotted 1st turn by a single long range spell (friend plays gitz with the wizard with insane range whatever its name is) so not gonna do that again.
What do you think?
