Does anybody else know of this gem, do other people like it on here, has anybody played it or know of games similar to it? I have found that this 1v1 200+ model simulation of the War of the Ring is a great way to have a Warhammer-esque experience (the game is that complex and intricate) without your opponent needing to have built and painted an army. It of course does not substitute the painting and modelling aspects, but if you are looking for gameplay similar to warhammer fantasy, this is about as close as i found it. Just wondering what you guys think :)

The game looked interesting to me, haven't played it just watched a review.

Funnily, we have it in our gaming group, but I've never played a game.
I know it's incredibly hard to win the game tnx to the Fellowship taking the Ring to Mount Doom

It does take a long while, you can't really win in the first hour, but i have found it is pretty balanced in the sense that even though you have wholly different goals (the evil player want to conquer some cities while the good player needs to throw the ring in the fire) you are pretty close to completing them at the same time.

Keep in mind that I'm just reporting what i have been told. The only victories achieved by my friends playing the good guys, were by military effort, and that couple of times they tried to bring the Ring, it ended with Sauron's victory.
But i really cannot say… and it was the first edition, so i don't even know what has changed in the second one.
