What are you doing today hobbywise?

Haven't been able to do anything with my models (I'm doing a gluing evolution on stuff I've been gradually buying over the last marhlect-knows-how-long) over the last couple of days due to family and work...

Then today, saw a couple of Tomb Kings characters for a really good price on Ebay and in a moment of weakness bought them...

Reeeeeeaaaaaally didn't need to do that.... but couldn't help myself.

Today I have been working on finishing up a Cold One proxy and its base. The base is Ghur themed, where Savanna meets Red Rock Desert. Im pretty happy with it although the raptor needs some more work after looking at the photos! Debating highlights and just general touch ups. Im pleased with the dry fit of the Knight, though a small amount of greenstuff will likely be needed to be added on the inside of the saddle for a more fitted fit.20200604_113343.jpg 20200604_113405.jpg 20200604_113424.jpg 20200604_113438.jpg

Yeah, definitely a fan of them, going to make half my knights ride them I think. Shall see how much geen work is needed, but I dont think it will take very much!

Printed at 28mm if anyone else is interested, Artisan Guild Sculpt

Due to it being nearly a year since my concussion, and I am almost fully returned to my normal working hours I thought to spoil myself with a visit to the semi-local GW tomorrow.

Deciding on what to buy.

Either
- 2 or 3 Start Collecting boxes to boost the Start Collecting Box-off battles
Or
- Savage Orruk Morboys, Savag Orruk Boarboy Maniaks, Ironjawz Brutes and 1 Start Collecting Box.

What do you guys think?

Grrr, Imrahil

Sadly the store was unforseen closed today.
So it will have to wait untill another day.

Gives me more time to think, so any suggestions are still welcome ;)

I admire your devotion ;)

I allready have a stockpile of Seraphon to work on... I'd like at least one new SCB of a different faction.

I think I will settle on this:
- Small layer brush
- Rhinox Hide
- Evil Sun Scarlet
- Averland Sunset
- Saurus Guards
- Ironjawz Brutes
- SCB Greywater Fastness
- Battletome Cities of Sigmar
- SCB Slaves of Darkness

Something for all my projects

Finally had a moment for my Britons to shine in a WHAB game. My chariots kited around a praetorian unit before getting a solid charge on a couple of scorpions, wiping out their artillery, and then joining in on the mess in the midfield with some good old hammer and anvil tactics.

That particular engagement, which included a challenge between two battle standard bearers that saw mine kill his without taking a wound, wiped out most of the Romans on the board in a route between two units. I eventually wound up in a position to win the game had it not been for three really unfortunate dice rolls at the end.

I was going to say Fyreslayers as a suggestion for a new faction for you to pick up a Start Collecting Box for (obviously) but ordinary Dwarfs are great as well (even if they have been enslaved by the Empire in AoS :sour:)

I was highly indecisive on the SCB, I wanted one Choas and one Order army.
For Order I thought of Fyreslayers for a while, but I remembered my vote for Dispossessed in the Dwarf topic ;)
So I'll have to go for the Greywater Fastness, Fyreslayers will have to wait for now

That's fair, ordinary Dwarfs are great too, and I imagine you'll have great fun building and painting them.

I just think it's a pity that GW merged them into AoS Empire rather than expanding them with a new range of models - the Dwarf ruins on the bases of some of the new Gloomspite models would have been a brilliant way to tease that, and we could have had some new concepts like Dwarf walkers or something which would have looked great.

In any case, if you do decide on getting a Fyreslayers SC Box at some point, feel free to strike up some discussions in my Fyreslayer thread here - I've essentially established it as a mini-forum for Lizardmen players who also play the Sons of Grimnir and any new beardlings are always welcome :oldman:

So last night I spent more time on packing away miniatures properly (hoarding my treasures! I will admit that I broke out a couple of renditions of Gollum's "My preciouses..." while doing so...

Now, just need to work out storage for my chariot legions and Bloodthirster.

Brilliant win for the Celts! :joyful:

What miniatures are your opponent using? They look like Warlord Romans but seem to be entirely red - were they painted like that?

Wait… judging from the last sentence, i don't think the celts won the battle...

Oh, misread that.

In that case, a narrow defeat with no shame in it. The Dice Gods were unfortunately against you this day, but your brave warriors live to fight again another day
