Yesterday i came back to real play after quarantine.
40k, my necrons vs a Guards army. Maelstrom
My list was an experiment, almost only "infantry".
Imotekh, a cryptek and 29 immortals
2 x (5+1) destroyers, 6 tomb blades, command barge
2 x 3 canoptek spiders, 6 canoptek wraiths, a criptek
facing a list with mixed stuff from vigilus and psychic awakening, 2 basilisks with master of ordnance, 4 leman russes (2 battle cannons and 2 demolishers), 4 units of scions with plasma that double the rapid fire shots and 2 tempestor prime (these ones in deep strike), 4+4 bullgryns, lord commissar, 1 heavy squad and 50 basic troopers.
What an epic battle, the guards took the first turn, tnx to placement i took just losed 2 destroyers (back with reanimation) and 4 wraiths (all back with reanimation and use of special orb artecact).
then i moved, killing 1 basilisk wiping away 30 troops and the heavy squad, linking in melee the second basilisk with my wraiths.
second turn, the scions arrived and the tanks start doing their work… wiping totally away both the destroyers units and the tomb blades, despite the inv. saves.
At that point i've played the objectives, concentrating the fire of the immortals on the scions.
it ended at the seventh turn (!), with me remaining with just imotekh, 2 wraiths and a cryptek, vs 3 russes and 10 troopers, 27 - 21 points, Necron victory.
In the last moments, my spiders were able to negate for 2 turns the fire of the 3 russes against my characters.
