Ferrets: Tube rats. They fit into spaces they should not, make little 'dook' noises, and will turn you into a jungle gym.

They also smell, bite, and look adorable.

I like all animals, but I have cats because I'm allergic to most other animals.

If ferrets didn't smell so bad, my home would be filled with ferrets. Personality wise, they seem to embody the best traits of dogs and cats. You get two or three ferrets and they can keep themselves occupied. They'll play with humans if they have the opportunity, but you can also leave them alone for hours and they won't develop psychological issues as long as they are fed and their space is clean.

A New Zealand ferret, I believe Freddie was his name was actually inducted into an electrician's union to avoid to accusation that the ferret was a scab.


But I don't like their natural musk.

Dogs and monitor lizards are the best pets in my opinion! Dogs are obvious. They are extremely loyal and intelligent and if treated right are some of the most loving animals on the planet. Monitor lizards are essentially like having small dinosaurs as pets. Despite their aggressive predatory nature, they can be tamed to make incredibly friendly pets. Definitely high maintenance animals though, so not for everyone.

Oh man, I would LOVE to have to have a Monitor lizard as a pet.

Unfortunately, i'm pretty sure he'd end up eating my dog...

What about Komodo Dragon's? Anyone heard of those being tamed?

that would be a bit of a problem Komodos would be dangerous pets their mouths are full of bacteria and so getting nipped would mean a life threatening trip to the hospital

I know, I know. But one can always dream. They are the closest things to dinosaurs that we have IMO.

i like crocodiles the size alone makes them a better fit and we do know they can be pets

Okay, I'm TOOOOOTALLY with you that having a Croc as a pet would be amazing. I feel honor bound to tell you that they would be just as dangerous as the Komodos since one bite wouldn't get you infected, it would be more like amputation.

That said... Real life Kroxigor? I always thought GW modelled the Krox after crocodiles.

An adult green Iguana is a beautiful (and actually pretty big) lizard as well.
And I heard that some of them actually like to cuddle!

I'm a cat person but:
- all other animals are great (except birds, ESPECIALLY as "pets". let them fly)
- i would gladly keep some iguana.

- my cousin once was a ferret owner. That particular beast was the spawn of Satan.

Fun fact! The Komodo dragon does indeed have venom, it’s an anti coagulant that causes the victim to bleed out in a few hours or days.
