AoS FAQ is out. Bastiladon is god

I think that scaley skin is going to work just fine. If the mission requires you to completely wipe out the unit to claim the objective point from them, it’s going to put in a ton of work keeping the unit alive to score another round.
It does significantly improve our durability. I can’t think of any examples of any armies that are not vulnerable to a swarm of rend -1 attacks. Right now saurus are solid and can hold for much longer than they used to

I find that the best way to attack those kinds of units is to go after their accuracy. Geminids and the like to take away their triggers on 6s and to just generally make them miss more works better than to try and tough out their attacks.

Pretty much everything is now an unmodified 6 to hit trigger. Even Blightkings got errata'ed to be unmod 6's. Which is not to say the Geminids aren't absolutely amazing. They truly are a near mandatory inclusion into our army's list building.

I actually like Scaly Skin. So much of the actual scary stuff in the game is multi damage, i think we'll find it's more effective than not most of the time.

Sure witch aelves are single damage, but snakes aren't. I've always found multi damage models mess me up way faster/more than single damage models.

Really the only top end army this doesn't help out on is fyreslayers because of those stupid polearms.
meh, the main issues I have is that it's confusing, doesn't work how I'd expect it to due to semantics & that it has a wild variance in how it'l perform based on matchup.

These are all issues that could've been avoided. Which is kind of a shame. I mean, it'l probably have its uses but it is kind of marred by this.

I get into this problem of geminids or purple sun. Both are so good for different reasons.

Very true. And out right slaying helps a lot vs Fyreslayers and is pretty decent vs OBR as well. Geminids are very quick though. Being able to set them up within 18" of the caster is huge. It is also harder to deny access to the Geminids due to their base size.

Definitely, you almost cant go wrong.

How does purple sun do against orruks, my mortal enemies?

How does purple sun do against orruks, my mortal enemies?

Purple Sun outright slays models, doesn't do damage. So against a unit of 30 ardboys, a purple sun will remove ~5 of them outright.

It's very strong against multi wound horde units. Orruks and Fyreslayers are just the two most obvious examples of that.

Blobs of 5+++ witch elves come to mind as well...

And the dreaded 60x Stabba horde who can get to -2/3 to hit.

That reminds me. I need to get a hold of a malign sorcery box for all the spells. I passed it up and haven't gotten it, scratch building my own cogs....

Could try to kitbash a purple sun.....

I was more worried about the Cloak of Feathers.

I'm calling my Chief on Stega "Flygadon" from now on. Feel free to nickname yours the same, my scaled brethren.

I am also wondering about TerraChiefs not having Deadly Cargo. Maybe Coordinated Attack is the reason why his Terra carries a rock?

eh where? I can't find that link at all (which is kind of dissapointing even if it's a joke)
