hi everyone ,

im new on this forum and on Age of sigmar ! i have played 40K few years ago and now im starting
a seraphon army.

I want to build an coalesced thunder lizard army and i Wonder if you guys could give me some advices and tips , thanks a lot !

leader :
-oracle on troglodon 260 points
-skink starpriest 120 points

units :
20 saurus warriors 180 points

behemoths:
-bastiladon 220 points
-bastiladon 220 points total : 1000 points


i already have the 20 saurus warrior , the starpriest and the oracle on troglodon (i find him pretty cool with the bonus on cast and the disspell without range and he has the bonus from thunder lizard too)

what should i change in the list ?
forgive me if i made mistakes i am really new on age of sigmar ahah

Welcome to Lustria!

I would consider taking a Carnorsaur as the leader for Thunder Lizards over taking the Trog. The Carnosaur gains a lot more out of the command trait. Running Thunderquaker is also worth considered if you plan to bring most of the required models already. This is to gain the extra artefact slot for taking Aetherquartz Brooch from Malign Socrcery. Atherquartz Brooch lets you roll a dice each time you spend a command point and gain a new command point on a 5+. Which is massive since you will be spending multiple cp every shooting phase with Thunder Lizards.

Now i understand why carnosaur is better than troglodon.
So i change troglodon by an oldblood on carnosaur but it s not a problem to have only the starpriest as a sorcer ?

I like to have both a Starseer and Starpriest in most of my list. Just having the one isn't too bad though.

one last question , 2 bastiladon is good or should i change one for a engine of god or a stegadon or an other creature ?

Today i played with a friend in a 500points battle and i found that saurus warrior and knight were pretty strong with an oldblood in koatl's claw so i dont know anymore If i should run Thunder lizard for a 1K army or not. What do you think guys, which one is more fun and competitiv between thunder lizard and koatls claw in 1k army ?

I think Thunder Lizards is by far our weakest subfaction. I would steer towards Koatl's Claw for Coalesced armies.
 
Thunderlizard works around big monsters which is easier to work with in 2k games so Koatls claw is probably the way to go.

Imo Thunderlizard is for monster heavy skink armies that don't want to be starborn or for specific ideas like double shooting bastilidons, buffed up stegadon chief or Sunclaw oldblood on carno buffed up(you trade a +1 to hit buff and extra CPs for extra mount attacks and wounds)

If you want to go Saurus and coalesced Koatls claw is the go to.

I come back one more time with my final list(i hope ahah)

- x30 saurus warrior 270 points
- x10 saurus knight 200 points

Total : 980 points

The plan is to buffed and support the saurus with the starseer and the starpriest and to generating a lot of CP. With all this support i think the warriors and knight can be very strong.What should i change in this list guys ?

I have my first matches with this army in few months and i want to make some changes. Here the new list :

Coalsced , koatl's claw

Leaders :
-oldblood on carnosaur 250 points
-skink starpriest 120 points
-skink starseer 140 points

Units :
- x40 saurus warrior 320 points
- x5 saurus knight 100 points

Endless Spell :

-Bound Geminids of Uhl-Gysh 70 points

Total : 1000 points

The objectiv is always to buff the warrior and Knights with starseer , oldblood and starpriest and to generate a lot of CP with this 3 leaders but i trade 5 knights for 10 warrior and 1 endless spell . Is this trade worth ? should i change something else ? and i dont know which endless spell should i choose for 70 points but this one seems good to me.

I like your list.

I think Saurus Knights and Geminids are the right call. The only change toward optimization that I would considered is dropping the Carnosaur to instead bring a Sunblood and Scar-Veteran on Coldone. They will do more to buff up the block of Warriors. Carnosaurs are awesome though!
 
Okay , i though about dropping the carnosaur but i though he can be good vs alone target like sorcer or target with a lot of hp , i will try it and see .

The Oldblood Carno has the potential to tear up some hordes. I just think you will get more damage by adding +1 to wound rolls and exploding 6's to hit to your Saurus Warriors. It comes at the cost of being all in on the Saurus Warriors though. And depending on what you are fighting the Warriors might just be overkill with the double buffs.
 
yeah i see maybe this double buffs + buff of starpriest is too much for one unit of 40 saurus , should i play 2 units of 20 saurus instead ?

It would let you bring clubs, thus gaining rend 1. It will also let you buff one unit into a glass hammer, and then buff the next into a glass hammer later in the game. I haven't double checked the math, but you might be over 1k if you split.
