After watching The Honest Wargamer's coverage of the Seraphon/Gotrek list, I think I'd very much like to run a slightly modified version of the list:

Allegiance: Seraphon
Mortal Realm: Ghur

Leaders
Gotrek Gurnisson (520)
Slann Starmaster (260)
- General
- Trait: Great Rememberer
- Spell: Meteoric Convocation
Engine of the Gods (240)
Engine of the Gods (240)
Skink Starpriest (80)
- Artefact: Gryph-feather Charm
- Spell: Stellar Tempest

Battleline
10 x Skinks (70)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
10 x Skinks (70)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
10 x Skinks (70)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers

Units
3 x Razordons (120)
3 x Razordons (120)

Endless Spells / Terrain
Chronomantic Cogs (80)
Balewind Vortex (40)
Prismatic Palisade (30)

Total: 1990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 1
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 87

Deploy Gotrek at the extreme edge of deployment. Mope your opponent will have to take Turn 1. This is 10 drops, so it's gonna be tough. Standard spell arrangement of having the Starpriest cast Cogs and then have the Slann manipulate them. Iv you get T2 in Round 1, Speed Up Time. If not, it might be better to Slow Down Time. If Gotrek get's the movement buff, he can move up to 14" on T1, assuming you spend a CP. Don't worry to much about run & charge, as he'll stick around just fine through any onslaught. If you get that sweet double turn, he's absolutely going to be into something. Use your Skinks to hedge in the enemy. Summon an AstroBear onto the table asap and set him up with your 2x 6D6 Razordons for maximum effect. Plus you have 2x EotG shenanigans going on. Even if you can't get Gotrek in right away, Skinks can be used to buffer any immediate retaliation and your Razordons should be extremely effective at helping to thin out any hoard units wanting to challenge Gotrek,

Playing my buddy's Skaven army tomorrow. I've got a few theory crafted lists I'm looking at and would like to get the community's feedback. He's been running a magic heavy list and also a 9x Stormfiends list. He almost always brings WLV, so Malevolent Maelstrom seems like a good Endless Spell to include. Each list will be one or two drops so I can control who goes first. So here are the lists I've come up with:

Allegiance: Seraphon
Mortal Realm: Shyish

Leaders
Slann Starmaster (260)
- General
- Trait: Great Rememberer
- Artefact: Incandescent Rectrices
- Spell: Meteoric Convocation

Engine of the Gods (240)
- Artefact: Ethereal Amulet
Skink Starpriest (80)
- Spell: Stellar Tempest
Saurus Astrolith Bearer (160)

Battleline
10 x Skinks (70)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
10 x Skinks (70)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
10 x Skinks (70)
- Boltspitters & Star Bucklers

Units
3 x Razordons (120)
3 x Skink Handlers (40)
3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140)

Behemoths
Bastiladon (280)
Bastiladon (280)

Battalions
Thunderquake Starhost (120)

Endless Spells / Terrain
Malevolent Maelstrom (10)

Total: 1990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 2
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 94

The idea here is to focus fire (with rerolls) the Stormfiends or VL Corruptor (depending on his list). I'm also hoping for a T1 EotG summon for more Rippers. Not sure how effective this will be, as Thunderquake is a tasty target for the WLV, but the Battalion's heal should assist with that and I could switch up the Starpriest's spell to add another heal.

Allegiance: Seraphon
Mortal Realm: Aqshy

Leaders
Slann Starmaster (260)

Engine of the Gods (240)
- Artefact: Ignax's Scales
Skink Starpriest (80)
- Artefact: Light of Dracothion
- Spell: Stellar Tempest

Skink Starpriest (80)
- Spell: Celestial Apotheosis

Battleline
10 x Skinks (70)

Units

3 x Razordons (120)

Battalions

Shadowstrike Starhost (180)

Endless Spells / Terrain
Malevolent Maelstrom (10)

Total: 1990 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 2
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 110

This one's pretty obvious. I've read that double SS isn't ideal, but it would definitely keep him playing conservatively. Also has some shooting and EotG shenanigans. It's a fun list, but could be effective.

Alpha Strike fun list. Bring down all the Saurus, keep them in the CA synergy ranges, use CP for each of the them and let them wreck face. Additionally, Cogs can provide better charge chances, Geminids for damage mitigation, QS for added MW cause Skaven are Chaos, and the Maelstrom and Verdant Mantle for additional WLV shut down.

There they are. What do y'all think?

Well, the new book is upon us. I've downloaded the e-book from the Azyr app and been reading through it in hopes of starting to create lists. As a first attempt at a casting list, here's what I've come up with:

Starborne
Dracothion's Tail

Leaders
Lord Kroak
-Stellar Tempest

Slann Starmaster
-General
-Itxi Grubs
-Celestial Equilibrium
-Celestial Apotheosis

Skink Starpriest
-Godbeast Pendant
-Hand of Glory

Knight Incantor

Terradon Chief

Battleline
5x Saurus Guard

-Saurus Guard Alpha
-Stardrake Icon Bearer
-Wardrummer

5x Saurus Guard
-Saurus Guard Alpha
-Stardrake Icon Bearer
-Wardrummer

10x Skinks
-Skink Alpha
-Boltspitter
-Celestial Dagger

10x Skinks
-Skink Alpha
-Boltspitter
-Celestial Dagger

Artillery
3x Salamander Hunting Pack

Other
6x Terradon Riders

-Terradon Rider Alpha
-Sunleach Bolas

Warscroll Battalion
Shadowstrike Starhost

Endless Spells
Balewind Vortex
Everblaze Comet
Bound Quicksilver Swords

Terrain
Realmshaper Engine

140/400 Allies
2000/2000 points
105 Wounds

The plan here would be to cast Celestial Equilibrium first, buffing the other Wizards, including the Knight Incantor. The Slann General would get to reroll 2 casts, unbinds, or dispells, thanks to Ancient Knowledge and Itxi Grubs. Kroak would be on the Balewind in the Realmshaper Engine with 5x Guard. The Starpriest would buff the Salamanders. Not sure who I would Strike from the Stars, as I'd want the Terradon Chief near the Terradons. I've also considerd a version of this where I drop the Comet and Incantor, bring the Astrolith Bearer and bump a unit of Skinks to 20.

I'm not sure this list makes the best use of our Command Ability synergies, but the casting potential of it interests me. I look forward to your feedback.

By the way, here's a link to a work in progress spreadsheet with condensed info from the Seraphon Battletome 2020.

I like it!

Another point about this list is that due to the new wording on Shadowstrike, all of the units in that Battalion can be off the board. So more then half this list can be in reserve.

Yep, this is awesome. Sadly it means we can't through out all the needed buffs onto the units before they engage. However, if screening is the main concern then it is a massive buff.

Agreed. Honestly, with the need of buffs being heightened, I'm not sure that reserve units are optimal, except for those that are still good without buffs, such as Sallys and Terradons.
