That would make a lot of sense. But there a lot of people (including every reviewer making videos) who all seem to think that the Slann/Oracle are only able to give up one spell per round. I hope that GW clarifies this. Since the Starborne didn't get much of anything other than minor buffs to warscrolls and lost double teleport, it would definitely make sense for them to be able to keep a good summoning mechanic. The sheer number of bonuses and buff stacking the Coalesced can get is what makes them really good, the Starborne deserve to have something going for them as well.
I see Starborne as the clear winner. There are still alot of powerful buffs on warscrolls. Fangs of Sotek subfaction is really good, especially with the Shadowstrike batallion.

I predict Coalesced to be really popular, especially in the start, because people are tired of Skinks and want to play with Saurus and their large dinos like Carnos.

I just think they are too slow to really compete with the objective game, and they dont really offer anything unique to really compete with the other combat armies. I dont see Saurus going toe-to-toe with Fyreslayers, OBR etc. Quite a few fight out of sync, got insane mobility or defense. They also lack wounds or any DPR vs MW output. Scaly Skin is gonna be amazing against Orruks though.

For me, it's all about salamanders. I'm not talking a subfaction, but running 12 salamanders that can get buffed by skink keyword abilities as well The extra bite attack and scaly skin, very formidable. Also taking no sub faction means I can run my steg hero, also with skink keyword, as a 3+, 13" movement -1 to hit flying annihilation machine

I think the biggest difference is that you dont have to do that if you dont want to. We have many viable builds and options now.

No objections. I was taking Arcane Might even when GR was the best. But not in a tournament. That's my point.

hey guys... i think i have the single simplest answer to the sacrificing spells question. if its 1d3 for slann, and 1d3 for AB and 1d3 for only one spell, then our max per game is 45 points, and the Dread is 50. logically speaking it wouldn't make sense for them to make something that literally could not be summoned in a matched play game, so im thinking we can sac more than one spell, we just have to do it prior to casting any.

I am afraid, Dread just not intended to be summoned in matched play. To be honest, if slann can sacrifice any spell, than summoning is even more crazy than before. Take 6 slanns and kroak and swarm the table with skinks.

The fact is that you shouldn't be tied to that stupid "d3 CCPs".
I get that we gain less points than before, that you need to invest more resources to gain them, and that summoning cost is now higher. But i cannot stand the random part.

Anyone know when the azyr app updates. Want to start making list and too lazy to write them out lol

Bruh I'm checking like every half hour, it's killing me, you'd think they'd release it the same time as the book and that was hours ago now. I feel like they don't tell the digital guys when they are actually releasing anything, it seems like they are always playing catch up

Azyr is updated, salamanders are still old points with artillery :( looks like stegs aren't counting as battleline in thunder lizard armies either

Completely agree. The game is random enough. I'd prefere 2 CCP instead of d3, so I can be sure, that I can pop a 10 skink unit a turn. The chance of getting nothing is not worth bearing for chance of getting more.

I just bought the new battletome on Azyr. Would anyone be able to tell me how to update the warscrolls and the rest of the app? It's showing all the old stuff.

Uninstall and reinstall it!

And then what? Standing around looking pretty with his mighty 1 spell per hero phase? :p

you have me there. but there is something hilarious about being the only army that can put a behemoth on a balewind!

Don't know if this has been brought up before or answered, but coalesced ignore bravery modifiers, both positive and negative. So that would been a unit of 10+ don't get horde bonuses. A unit of 40 saurus is stuck at what's on their warscrolls. Don't know how I feel about that. On one hand, ignore death bravery bombs, but on another, losing more than 10 models a combat phase makes the use of a cp to ignore battleshock almost essential.

It should have been worded "Negative modifiers"

But here we are

Yeah, but you can also mitigate it with the harmony spell from the Skink lore if you fear that CP could be too scarce.
