AoS NEW *rumor*

I just did some math:
On a 4+ save target the Dread Saurian would do 10.21 damage with all of his attacks
and he has 70 expected wounds with a 4+ save and ignoring rend for this calculation for 510 points
47 Skinks which would be the equivalent to 70 expected wounds so 50 Skinks which cost 350 points
On a 4+ save target they would do 14.96 damage with blowpipes and dagger

So 50 skinks should live longer (ignoring rend for this calculation) do more damage (with half of it beeing 16" range) and cost less then the Dread Saurian
 
with the stupidist list imaginable. you could run 5 slaan and kroak with 3 msu's of skinks. maybe some guard. thats 20d3 summoning points. actually way more than we could possibly do before but at what cost?

I have the battletome who arrived in the shop for 3 days and I cannot go and get it because they arrest me if I go .. What a sad situation..

Pretty sure you can only sacrifice the first spell per Slann. You could totally make a list with multiple, but there is no way you can get even close to potentially 30 CCP per turn.
 
I wish you could still spend spells for CCP. Would be pretty fun with what we have honestly.
The 50 CCP Dread makes me think that perhaps there is a chance at being allowed for multiple spells to be banked. Course, that could just be for Narrative games with no defined turn end.
 
Well, he still doesn't look like a competitive choice, he lost skink synergy just when it might be helpful and no more rerolls when attacking monsters. But he is a horde killer indeed. D6 MW against hordes on charge is great and with rend -2 he will delete hordes. But his wounds are something. With healing he could recover max 15 wounds per game or 10 on average, which is still less than he has now. And he gets +2 for Thunder Lizard. You can give him 2+ save, 6+ shrug and 4+ ignore magic on top of that. His roar is devastating - even daemons has chance to run, suffering just one casualty. Everything below bravery 9 will be uttrely destroyed. Yes, he is 90 pts more expensive, but he is literally a quarter of your army. With emerald swarm+apotheosis, he will be almost unkillable. I LOVE it!

not trying to be a rules lawyer. but since its currently open to interpretation the battle tome reads... : In your hero phase, before attempting to cast the first spell with each friendly SLAAN or ORACLE, you can say that it will carry out a celestial conjuration. if you do so. you receive D3 ccp but the number of spells which that model can cast in that phase is reduced by one... there is nothing restricting you from doing this multiple times it just has to be before you cast the first spell with a model. at least thats how i am currently interpreting it.
 
Im surprised he didnt get the Orruks Warclan treatment and get both keywords, even if it meants slightly worse stats. The Rogue Idol is an actual thing in tournaments. Sad he likely wont be due to lack of keywords.

That is the exact wording? That is pretty huge.

It basically means you have to decide to turn spells into points before you cast anything. You can still cast afterwards, but you can't cast, then decide to make points.
 
Well it sure looks like the dread saurian has become quite killy and tanky creature, wonder how well it actually will do on the table.

In other news, it looks like AdeptiCon might be cancelled this year due to infection danger according to their facebook.

everything is being canceled. its insane. at least in the US the risk is so low its not even funny. sooo tired of corona virus already....

I guess it could be read that way. When I read it there is just no real indication that you can do this multiple times.

The playtesters on the Bad Dice podcast also mentioned it was once per hero. Of course they could be wrong, but they have played with the book for a while.

The summoning table itself also seems to support you cant sacrifice them all. In Dracothion’s Tail it could be a very real strat to bring 2 Slanns for deepstriking. 2 Slanns and an Astrolith is almost 1 Bastiladon a turn.

Here in Denmark the entire school system has been locked down, and my gymnasium won't allow people to enter the building even to gather their supplies and personal belonings until the 30th of March.

Thanks to Warhammer Crendor's videos it was pretty easy to read.

It would probably be a good thing to ask for a definitive answer from an FAQ then. because this either makes or breaks our summoning.

RAW it also doesn't say you can't do it multiple times so its possible, of course it will probably be gone with the errata or maybe we got it wrong and thats actually what they meant which would make summoning very much a thing
(And that would basically be the only way to summon a Dread Saurian)
