This bugs me. George Lucas should have come up with a more clever way to kill her.

That's only the tip of the iceberg. Lucas just isn't exactly a great writer and it shows in a lot of places.

Yep. The movies aren't great, but as far as single scenes are concerned this one takes the title.

Overall it still doesn't make the "worst Star Wars movie" title though, Episode 2 beats everything there in my book.

Keep in mind though that even the worst Star Wars movie is still perfectly watchable for me, I have watched it numerous times and prefer it over lots of other movies. It is only "bad" relatively speaking. It does have a lot of OK or good scenes, too.
(Kinda like the worst new Mercedes car of the year is probably still better than most cars)

I don't know. I can't really picture the others discussing sand and Anakin clearly has no clue about the high ground. It has to be one of the other two.

I'd say the Senate, as Palpatine wouldn't make any claim to push Anakin to the rank of Master without giving away his grooming of Anakin, whereas all of them have something in common with the Senate (Palpatine IS the Senate and the others are all under the illusion of trying to protect it)
