Speaking of Amber Heard...

The thing is not that people are too uncivilized to peel a banana. The problem is that people are too civilized to peel a banana.

I can buy a whole pineapple and cut it up myself. Or I could pay an extra two bucks and have some one cut it up for me and put it in plastic. I am cheap and I normally prefer to cut my own fruit. SOMETIMES I will buy a pre-cut melon because I'm not great at picking melons. If the melons are pre-cut I can see what it looks like inside.

I can buy celery stalks and cut off the yucky parts than cut the celery into nice sticks, or I can spend an extra 80 cents to have a grocery store employee do it for me. Considering celery costs less than two bucks, that's a huge markup.

There is a CRAZY markup for very simple processing of produce. Some one just went to far. How can we markup bananas 50%?
I kinda get the melon and especially the pineapple or coconut thing. I can see the point for celery, too.
But a banana? My daughter is four and she can open a banana in seconds, and cut it into pieces in under a minute.

If there is a guy or gal who does the cutting and is paid for it I also get it. But I am pretty sure someone actually built a machine for the banana cutting. Even slaves would be too expensive I guess.

This is just a waste of resources and causing needless pollution because someone doesn't want to spend, like, 30 seconds of their time.
It makes me sad.

@Lizards of Renown
You are having quite a run here! I laughed out loud to more than one of your posts, which is something that happens rarely. :)

Sehr Gut! Fantastisch! (Ich spreche eine kleine bissein Deutsch, but that's pretty much my entire vocabulary...)

I had a lot of fun working my way through this thread (am only up to page 628 so far) and feel it is my duty as an Englishman to contribute to the humor :D

Lawful Chaotic tactics are a good strategy to get stupid laws removed. This sometimes works, but if the law enforcers are enforcing a stupid law unevenly this doesn't work.

Also a good way to get new laws made. At one point there was supposedly a law against firing a catapult in the city streets in Toronto, Canada. Don't know if that law is real (I read it in a book over two decades ago and never could find confirmation) or if it has since been repealed, but supposedly it exists. Makes you wonder who did what for that to go onto the books... :D
