AoS New Seraphon Battletome release date

This will the first tome I pre-order. Does anyone generally know how long it is between release announcement to opening for pre-order to actual delivery?

The last time I pre ordered something I had it shipped to the Warhammer store and it was there with the first delivery after it went so to say live.

Yeah, if you pre-order the day it goes up and ship to your local GW, it will /arrive before the official day of release. Least that's normally how it goes at mine. I normally pre-order my stuffs from stores via eBay, but I might just pull go the GW route to get it asap...lol

I too will be preordering from GW. Going for the cards and hopefully a dice set.... I swear if you all buy them all up and I don't get any (like the Blood bowl dice) I think I might go crazy.

This brings up a point that I've been very curious about: exactly how big is the Seraphon player base?

The LVO article mentioned Seraphon as being one of the more popular armies, but I rarely if ever see battle reports with them or in other AoS-related media for that matter. I know this is mainly due to the army being outdated and only having a few competitive builds at the moment, but still. If we're so popular, where are we?! I mean, I know you all have been here and some of us, have only recently resurfaced, myself included, but how many other lizards are out there separate from the jungles of Lustria? lol

It will be interesting to see how many players crawl out of the wood-works for the release. And I mean legitimate Seraphon players who may have stopped for reasons above, not FOTM/bandwagon ones.

well dispite being bad we where the 8th most common army at tournaments so i would say very popular. i think no one showed off battle reports because our play stile isn't fun to watch throwing skinks into the meat grinder for 3 turns before you drop 50 guys onto the objectives doesn't make for good tv

I wouldn't be surprised if a large aspect of our popularity is due to collectors and people kitbashing. Out of the various factions its definitly one of the more appealing ones if you don't actually play the game. So wouldn't be surprised if that causes the sales numbers to be significantly inflated compared to who actually plays seraphon in tournaments.

I don't think I mind this, especially the bit about sales numbers being inflated, as it would show GW that the more Seraphon stuff they make, the more money they rake [in] :p...as long as the new stuff is good of course, haha!

if they re using sales since the dawn of AOS we are prolly ranked 1 or 2, with all the extra models we have to have for summoning lol

I’m new here, never played before and am currently building up my first army. Where do I fit in? ;-)

You fit in perfectly that's what you do! I decided to start AoS with Seraphon too without knowing that the rules were sub par. I've only had two games so far and I'd say we joined exactly at the right moment.

Right here among us. You are a hatchling among old scaly grumps.

Not some ogre/rat/orc pantomiming as a child of the First Race. Only @Y'ttar Scaletail seems to be furry and scaly at the same time.
The odd lizard.

exactly as the others have said. I have ZERO gripes with freshspawn.. we need to replenish our ranks after the millennia of war. I take Umbridge with the fakers... the kainites in lizard scales, the worhipers of chaos who profess to have turned from their ways, only to return when our nerf hits post book...

You are welcome.

EVERY release has had at least one major correction AFTER the book was released recently... I have no faith in GW to get it right first time. with us, or anything else. they purposely overtune for the sales. its the same thing RIOT does when they release a new champion.

Riot often waits more than 2 weeks to swing the nerf hammer though… Need to maximize the amount of money they make off the back of every release, gotta milk those players that haven't been playing that long. They don't get any money from me as i've been there since early season 1 and have had every champion owned for many years. Then…. they'll nerf the new champion 3-4 patches in a row to bring him/her on par with the rest of the playing field.

oh.... I didn't realize you guys were zeroing in on my "2 weeks" statement... it was hyperbole lol
