AoS NEW *rumor*

A plastic injection mold costs between $1,000 and $80,000. The mold's size, complexity, material, and type affect its price. However, a typical mold costs $12,000. if we assume a 40$ per box and a 50% profit after expenses(im lowballing it plastic is dirt cheep) that means they only have to sell 50-4000 typicly 600 boxes that is very doable. they would last forever as good models have great shelf life so once they made their munny back thats strait profit for the next 20 years

I see, yeah that seems doable for sure, then I don't have any idea why they're not doing it. But none of us really know what goes on behind the curtains of that company, time will tell. Maybe for AoS 3.0 everyone gets new models.

well 3.0 would meen more new books sooooo. i realy don't get the lack of models with all the outcyr for them i think they would make their munny back in the first week but who knows maybe they didn't want to distract from the new aelves

Yeah it would mean more books, more waiting etc.
Like I said we don't know what's going on behind the curtains, maybe they bit of too much to chew. Too many releases, they open up another factory for more minis, they had that big stock crash a few years ago.
All in all they seem to be turning their whole buisness around, new management etc.

I mean, new models would be damn nice, I would really appreciate it but at the same time I try to stay content with what we get or what I already have. Focusing too much on everything missing just gets my spirits down and sucks out the joy of a hobby that should be fun.

All in all the rules are the most important thing out of it all and those are getting updated and they will be atleast on par with everyone. Like I've stated before, it can't be worse then the last few years.

just a quick question, is the terrain in front of the ziggurat also new terrain it looks like it 2 me

thats only if the book is good we are a tricky faction to fix. we could get a bad book like SCE KO or sylvaneth or a sub par book like IDK ogres gits and khorn. im reserving all prais or scorn for when our stuf comes out but i am conserned

It’s entirely possible that we end up being dealt a bad hand, but unless the fixes fall drastically short, we should actually be able to play the game.

We may end up winning less even, but I’ll take that if those wins can be by actually competing, rather than avoiding throwing dice, dropping skinks and playing dirty movement tricks.

if your fine with droping below 40% you can already do that just run what you want. your win rate will go down and you wount have to play skink shenanigans

Without these, actually we can win just casual games vs friendly lists. In a competitive setting, no way
well ya that's my point we already sit at the bottom we can't afford to get worse, even if it does expand our play styles

But what about, design costs, license costs, box art, packaging and transport costs, marketing costs, taxes, worker salaries?
+ molds don't live forever.

But what about, design costs,
already done just use the blood bowl ones repose them and give them weapons
license costs, box art,
you meen taking a picture? lets put it at 500 in total to have it done professionally
packaging and transport costs,
already acounted for i put the cost at 20$ a box witch is stuped high for plastic (about 36cents a pound) and cardboard
marketing costs,
GW doesn't market their stuf they make a single post on community and thats it
taxes, worker salaries?
both of theis are already a factor adding a new model line will not change the over head
+ molds don't live forever.
they saport about 100000 to a million printings more then enough to meet demand

just a quick question, is the terrain in front of the ziggurat also new terrain it looks like it 2 me
I think it's just random nonsense made for the picture, not proper new scenery.

Yeah sure molds dont live forever, but by the time the molds die out everyone will have new models out by then and we will just be waiting our turn lol

I spend some time today to compare all Battletome Cover art with exiting models. And i have to say the argument for new Saurus as seen in the Cover art has a good basis.

Cover art that miss match or badly mach:
- Beasts of Chaos // I think is a Ugur with the shield but the hear on the chest is a bad mach. Also the Weapon is a bad Mach.
- Blades of Khorne // The Flesh Hound is a good mach. But the Hero holding him has no equal model.
- Flesh-Eater Courts // There is no Crypt Flayers with armor and hands.

Some miss mach:
- Ciries of Sigmar // Freeguild Greatswords have all the elements but not in one model.
- Stormcast Ethernal // I cant find a Liberator without a helm.
- Ogor Mawtribes // its the sword guy but without his Helmet.

All others are a great mach based on a Existing model.

We'll get new Saurus. Don't be focused in the negative expecting to be disappointed, or you will be no matter what! Just the new book is something we've been expecting for a long time, and even if we lose strength in the competitive world, really, I don't think it's that bad. Seraphon, thematically, are not well designed right now, and thematic designs are the bread and butter of GW new rulebooks. Let's embrace whatever comes with good expectations, excitement and trust!

And we will get new Saurus.

Mighty lord of Khorne or Khorgos Khul, the leader of the most important khornate tribes and the antagonist for much of the initial parts of Sigmar's crusades in Aqshy. You can get the model in the bloodbound goreblade starter set.

I dont agree with that comparison. Oldblood + carnosaur (also terradons and engine of the gods) in the new battletome match perfectly... Just a bit of hope for saurus warriors there? Probably. I just hope they release a new start collecting with new saurus warriors and cold ones. Wouldn't that be hot? :p
