Steggadon = Okay

Saurus old blood = good (Finecast :vomit:)

Scar Vet on Cold one = okay (Finecast :vomit:)

Skink priest with feathered cloak = passable (Finecast :vomit:)

Saurus sunblood = horrible due to loss of detail when compared to the saurus from the carnosaur kit which came out at the same time.

Saurus Astrolith bearer = Passable (Finecast :vomit:)

Chameleon Skinks = Passable, but waaaay too pricey (Finecast :vomit:)

Eternity warden = Fine (Finecast :vomit:)

Skink Star Priest = Noice

Salamander = Passable (Finecast :vomit:)

Razordon = passable (Finecast :vomit:)

Sarus knights = not great

Skinks = Fine

Saurus warriors = Passable. I would have ranked them higher if it weren't for how good the never saurus looks in comparison.

Skink starseer = Fine (Finecast :vomit:)

Slann starmaster = The sculpt is fine, material - not so much (Finecast :vomit:)

Kroxigar = Horrible, but I'm biased because of Woogity's sculpts (Finecast :vomit:)

Saurus guard = good, but something more akin the the carnosaur's saurus would be much better

Ripperdactly + carno + bastiladon = Noice

Okay, fair point, I was just looking at the models on the website and rating the way they looked.

yes I agree, I would never buy a finecast model. Not my jam.

The Sunblood is a really ugly model imo. But it's an odd range. Some really crappy models, lots of mediocre ones. And then some absolutely buetiful models, like the carnosaur, Trogladon, Skink star priest, Ripperdactylys and Steggadon.

Bastilladon is nice as well, but could probably do with being bigger nowadays.

The only thing i object to is that you said the steggadon is only ok. But I really love that model. I have never seen it in real life though.

Plese Gw make our dinosaurs strong! make the models huge please, and make them not suck balls!

That's just personal taste, the quality of the sculpt itself is good, I would just like something closer to a stegosaurus or triceratops to have another option for GW to make us a new dinosaur

I would say saurus warriors are meh as their bloodbowl sculpts are incredible. When you look back at the old ones, they just feel underwhelming

Yikes!

I had an idea of speed painting the rest of my Saurus knights. The Saurus knights are bad, because they have to much detail.

And its not simple detail either. It has the saddle, skulls, feathers, gold trinkets etc etc.

Saurus warrirors are actually pretty nice to paint fast.

But the knights are some really slow going. Also getting to the saddle and a lot of the details on the saddle, is difficult.

I think with newer models, they have learned how to make them, so they are easy to paint.

It probably takes the same amount of time to paint a carnosaur or a trogladon then it does one cold one knight.

wait really? you think knights are to detailed? try looking at veren guard or a ironclad

Knights have a lot of details. The iron clad you can just paint all steel and dry brush. It looks good!

With the knights they have flowers, feathers gold etc etc, about 2 million different colours. They are very time consuming. And also some details are very hard to get to.

I very much agree

My own tier list:

A-tier: Carnosaurs, Bastiladons, Stegadons, Troglodon, Ripperdactyls, Terradons, Skink Starpriest, Skink Starseer.

B-tier: Slann, Lord Kroak, Saurus Oldblood on foot, Dread Saurian, Saurus Guard, Skinks, Saurus Warriors, Scar-vet on Cold One, Eternity Warden.
*Note: Slann and Kroak are great models, but are finecast/metal only and the skink looks more like a wild lizard than an actual skink attendant*

C-tier: Saurus Knights, Razordon, Salamander, Skink handlers, Chameleon Skinks, Sunblood, Kroxigor, Skink Priest.

This. The new BB saurus are huge and in scale with the rest of the new ranges. Since they made the new BB Saurus, we have to be getting a new set of Saurus for AOS, right?

While GW would be stupid not to integrate them into AoS, GW is not the primary manufacturer of Blood Bowl., so there is a real and dark possibility where they do not integrate their new saurus into AoS

The only model I have real issue with (and wouldn't buy) is the salamander.

It looks like a child built it out of clay then left it near the fire.

Just saying........

Indeed.

The thing about the early Lizardmen models, is that I think they wanted to make them more cartoony looking.

The Carnosaur and Ripperdactyls, look amazing, and really don't fit with things like the salamander and Saurus knights.

But then again, when you have your Seraphon army all painted, they all look pretty good on the table.

I think the secret to making the older models look good, is to keep them more or less one colour, with different shades of that colour. Nice transitions.

If you have to much contrasting colours, it seems to draw attention to the quality of the model itself. If they are all uniform it seems to make them more anonymous. Even if these are horrible models, I am sure someone somewhere has made them look really good. Maybe.

it's not so much that they are cartoony and more that it was the limit of pewter at the time

I generally like almost all of our miniatures, apart from the Cold Ones of the knights they do look a tad derpy imho. I'm thinking of doing a little bit of sculpting on their tails, because apart from the faces thats the part I do dislike the most.

The flyers are great too, cool miniatures, can't wait to add them.

The most awesome of our miniatures are all the big dinosaurs and I want at least one of each in my army, apart from the Bastilladon, of that I want two.

I love all our big lizards (probably the reason I started playing Seraphon). But I abhor the Saurus Knights, Razordon and Salamanders models the most. They really didn't age well and need a new sculpt ASAP.
Knights are just plain ugly, cartoony and made to be packed in units for WHFB (rectangular base). They look awkward by themselves and their pose isn't dynamic at all.
Salamanders and Razordons are just ugly sculpts. On top of that, they are pretty expensive, so I pledged to not buy any of those models until there is a decent and/or prettier alternative for them.

Yes shame on GW for putting the crappy looking knights and saurus in the Start collecting box, along with the amazing carnosaur and trogladon.

I would never choose to collect seraphon for myself, based on the model range. I collect them for someone else. And I buy the start collecting twice.

At least saurus warrirors are fast to paint. Cold one knights take ages.

I don't hate the cold one knights or the saurus models. But I feel like they look very out of place compared to my other AoS armies. The sarus look like standing up geko's.

I am opposite to most people, because I prefer the knights to the regular Saurus warriors. The reason is the Knights are at least quite chunky models.
