Palpatine making and selling pizzas and other junk food? That’s a new one.

What's more evil than contributing to the obesity epidemic?

I cannot like this enough.

The new Star Trek movies are not very good. Star Trek Discovery is even worse. BUT it's in a separate universe. There's like an original universe and the "Kelvin Universe." The Star Trek I like was not tainted and as soon as someone produces something new in the universe I like, I will start watching new Star Trek again.

I would like to see to see Disney do that with Star Wars.

So the original Star Wars universe splits into two universe. Rey Universe and the Recast Universe. There are fans who actually like the Disney Star Wars movies. Keep making Disney plus TV shows in this universe as long as some people keep watching it.

Carrie Fisher is dead and the rest of the original cast is dead. In the Recast Universe, find young actors who kind of look like Mark Hamil, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford and start with Truce at Bakura and work your way through the Thrawn Trilogy and Jedi Academy trilogy. Then move on to something else, because after Darksaber the expanded novel universe starts to decline in quality in my opinion.

I get it, Star Wars is timeless. Harrison Ford is irreplaceable yada yada yada (Yoda Yoda Yoda?). It's not a crime to recast Han, Luke, and Leia if you keep the spirit of the originals alive.

It doesn't have to be Timonthy Zahn. If Disney pulls any versions of "Rey's saga didn't really happen" I will give the next iteration of Star Wars a chance. If not well....

This is why many people believe Return of the Jedi is the weakest of the original trilogy among other minor flaws. Why did Jabba have a torture chamber entirely for Droids? The whole Jabba sequence was full of gaping plot holes. HISHE really nailed it where they sneaked in while everyone asleep (because there was a scene where everyone was asleep and no one was standing guard), Leia rolled in a thermal detonater. Killed Jabba and everyone else, then thawed out Han. Luke was complaining "But I wanted us all to let ourselves be captured one at a time and make our plan stupid elaborate!"

But the orginal stupid plan meant we got Carrie Fisher's iconic fan service...and Han was blind the whole time.

That would be the end of the Rey universe. Surely it has some fans, but most of the die hard fans would abandon the Rey universe immediately for the Recast EU universe. There is a reason why current Disney Star Wars toys aren't selling and that Galaxy's Edge is a flop.

Plus, at that point, Disney would have to admit that their "Force is Female" universe is a bust. The financial disparity between the two universes would give them no other avenue to escape it.

I think that Star Wars movies/series based on the old EU would fail spectacularly. Much of that stuff wasn't exactly good. Nostalgia clouds our view as we mostly remember the (very few) really great things and ignore the piles of crap next to them.
