I HAVE THE POWER!!! (in terms of forum milestones)

Necrons on the other hand are - AFAIK - driven by hate and such things. That would be evil.

Necrons are pretty much the same as the Imperium in their feelings towards other races (i.e. xenophobic), and do want to eradicate the other races that squat on their planets but they also share the Tomb Kings’ view that @NIGHTBRINGER mentioned where if the other meddling races leave their planets alone, the Necrons will often leave them alone.

But collectively they still have a net evil effect on the universe as they would wipe everything out. Hence "Neutral Evil".

They do desire to devour all life, that is true, but this would include all evil life like Chaos Space Marines and Dark Eldar, and Tyranids feel a special hatred towards the Chaos Daemons because the Chaos Daemons devour the opposite part of the same prey that the Tyranids devour (Tyranids devour the corpses of prey, while Chaos Daemons devour the souls of prey), so while on one hand they may devour the ‘good’ guys, they will also devour all life that is especially malicious, saving the galaxy from these threats. In addition, they don’t feel any enjoyment in harming their prey for personal gain like Dark Eldar do, for example, they just do it because they evolved to do it, if that makes sense. That’s why I feel they are more neutral than evil.

Taking no joy out of destroying just makes them neutral evil. They don't do commit evil for the joy of being of evil. They don't do it to uphold an evil empire. They simply do evil because evil just happens to be what they are.

As for focusing more on evil factions, they simply eat everything in their way. So a true focus they don't really have anyway.

Also, to be true neutral they'd need to at least be capable of living in balance with their enviroment. Which they are utterly incapable of. Normal wild beasts eventually reach an equilibrium. They might occasionall attack a settlement or something when agitated, or when there is some kind of upheaval in their territory (e.g. a particularly harsh winter causing predators to attack a settlement). But for the most part attacks should be rare, and they definitly shouldn't hunt their prey to extinction. Normally you get some kind of balance and some circle of life where prey and predator keep eachother stable. With tyranids this balance is never reached. Either you kill all the tyranids, or the tyranids clean up all life (and then they presumably die cuz then they no longer have food).

If @Lizerd's the Greater Good on the light side of the spectrum, and @NIGHTBRINGER's Chaos on the dark side of the spectrum, where would I fit in as the Tyranid Hive Mind?

:android: ;)

(Probably Neutral)

Moot point. @Lizerd has been corrupted by memes, the Greater Good has fallen to the dark side.

Wouldn't Tyranids be "Neutral Evil"? Tomb Kings would be a better example of a pure neutral.
I serve chaos, them memes are to good

If this happened in another forum we would have received the boot. Great to see how cool the admins are here
Probably why other forums are not nearly as successful. The "Just for laughs..." thread happens to be the forum's most successful thread in terms of views!

Probably because you both have saved the memes for the Off-Topic section rather than any Warhammer-related subforum... ;)

The memes are very well organized into the Just for laughs..., Star Wars/Trek, Dogs/Cats and Batman threads (we even have a Warhammer meme thread)! And as you say... all in the proper sub-forum.

Star Wars > Monty Python
Yeah, not not by a long shot. Especially now that mickey mouse has decided 99% of the good stuff is no longer canon.

Warhammer > D&D
Not sure, quite possibly. Not that into D&D. But warhammer does seem to have more interesting lore in general. In terms of actual games they don't really compete much with eachother as far as I can tell so there's no real comparison there seeing as they're just completly different genres for most of their games.

At this point I don't count anything Disney Star Wars as canon. Disney Star Wars is shit.

When I say Star Wars I mean real Star Wars (under George Lucas or directly approved by him).

To be fair, I've never played D&D, but I do love Warhammer. The minis alone take the victory in my eyes.

And D&D doesn't have...

Meh, George Lucas never really made the properly good starwars stuff. He ultimatly laid the ground work, but most of the really good stuff came in the expanded universe which he usually wasn't all that involved in as far as I know.

Yeah, D&D models aren't very impressive.
