Hey everyone,

I plan on buying a Dread Saurian soon and I wanted to ask, based off it's stats & point cost, is the unit a fun inclusion into the Seraphon army? I'm not much of a tournament player, I prefer more fluff/themey armies then going 4 EotG lol.

Anywho, what is your opinion? My thing is, if the model isn't fun to play with, then I'll likely put that $300 towards other Seraphon units.

its definitely very fun, I wouldn't exactly call it competitive, but it can turn some heads and cause some fun situations at a casual table.

It certainly distracts your opponent. :D

I play it once in a while, and it's definitely fun. Except when you buff it through the roof, and you fail a 5" charge. Twice. :p

Edit: but don't use the "official" base for it. it's so large that you wouldn't be able to move it in a battlefield crowded with terrains!

Its literally an 8" x 11" piece of printer paper rounded into an oval.... soooooooooo big

280 x 210 mm base... 280 mm is 11.024 inches and 210 mm is 8.268... so its 1/4 inch smaller than a piece of standard printer paper (8.5 x 11 inch) on the short side and imperceptibly larger on the long side

It's the same base as the enormous Vorgaroth the scarred and Skalok model so yea... pretty pretty big. The dread saurian looks like a baby when put side to side though. I got Vorgaroth first so by the time i bought the dread saurian it felt a bit underwhelming.

It's not the most cost efficient model but it can do some damage. Worst case scenario you have a huge distraction carniflex that looks beautiful

As a Tyranids player I approve this message

The way i see it, it's the same thing as the 1200 pts khorne dragon: I don't care if i win or lose the game (most probably lose if i field that thing in a 2k game), i won the intimidation game when i put the model on the table.

If I brought it, not only would my Skaven buddy crap his pants, I would get almost every person in the GW at the table looking at it! lol.

Dang that is insane, how big is the model itself?? It would get swallowed by the base.

+1 to this.

Distract opponent from your real money-makers, and let it cause havoc if they choose to ignore it after all

This should give you an idea (Dread saurian has wrong base but the dragon has it for comparison)
