AoS New player and saurus guard

Hi all, first post here and not actually played any games but I've gotten into seraphon to paint.

My question is regarding the build of saurus guard.

I've got 1 box of 15 and wondering if it's better to use them as a 15 or if I should be splitting them into 3x units of 5 and more specifically, if I split them into 5s, should I be building the banner bearer in each unit?

I would build them as 3 units of 5 with Alpha, Drummer, and Banner within each unit. That way you are able to use them as 3 separate units or one big unit of 10. If you buy another box in the future you can build all without command allowing you to run 3 units of 10.

Do you think it would be worth having 2 units command now and 3 units when I buy another box?

Only asking because I need to use some of the banners for an astrolith bearer.
 
I personally build every minimum sized unit with all the options (drum banner alpha) for flexibility, and if I find myself using them in a more than minimum sized unit, I specifically designate the Alpha for that unit and make sure my opponent knows which one it is. this is less important for banners and drums, as every model can (rules as written) be both a drummer and a banner bearer.
 
It also just looks nicer to build them as minimum sized units. Having some banners to break up the ranks when you have a large horde is cool :P
