Blog Suds Painting 2019: End of the Year Closing. Thanks Everyone for the support and great community!

Need some thoughts.

So far I love the yellow and black with a white stomach approach Im going with. My original idea was to then use either Iyanden Yellow or Casandora Yellow on the current yellow areas.

Im now torn cause I feel it already looks great and Im tempted to just touch up the black areas and maybe one more layor of Phalanx Yellow

Still needa dry brushing (will probably do skavenblight dinge for the black areas and then reshaded with nuln oil) and also to paint the underbelly either White Scar or Pallid Wytch Flesh

What do yall think? 20190823_230725.jpg 20190823_230731.jpg 20190823_230743.jpg 20190823_230750.jpg 20190823_235548.jpg

I'd say try a grey or tan for the belly. The white clashes with the yellow.

For the belly? Depends how dark it is. A dark purple wouldn't be too bad for the body instead of the belly though, would pair well with the yellow. Maybe for the unpainted one?
Yep! I have two more, and one will def be purple on the main body

First attempt at water or a base in general beyond the basic, hope it turns out well! This is the base for my Troglodon Matriarch and I'm very excited. Still have some trees to add, sadly couldn't afford bushes for the moment. C&C always welcome! Waiting on the resin to dry.20190824_210500.jpg 20190824_210511.jpg

Looking good! May I ask where you got the bullrush reeds from for the base? I've been trying to find some for a while

Not a problem! I had to cut mine down a little as they were too tall for my river, but they look great in the resin

Thanks for the kind words btw!!

I like the water base! The grass is a little bit all over the place though, but I completely understand why. Those grasses/cattails are frustrating to work with :sour:

Thanks! Yeah first time doing any of it, so a little messy but itll do lol I tried to keep all of em straight up, etc but they were too tall to begin with so I had to cut off their base which meant they werent all connected anymore...it kinda became a small nightmare lol but yeah, turned out alright! I may add some more gel, seems that it shrinks a bit when it settles? Looks lower now than it did when I poured it, but we shall see :)

Thanks again!

Started the first of 3 Salamanders today :) Though they may be too big for legal play, I still hope to get them into private or local matches someday. Until then Im just enjoying painting these beautiful models and once again looking to nature for my inspiration! Fire Salamanders!
Who makes that model?
I think it could easily proxy for a Razordon.

Mierce Miniatures. Im planning them to be either or! I have 3 other different models as my "razordons" but again, can be used as either or

Hey great bases man! Also wanted to commend the triceratops skull + gemstone. How did you put that together?

Hey! Thanks! The base is coming out well, will hopefully have the Troglodon done and then ill be able to attach it soon and finish it all up! Its been one of the most rewarding things I've done in a long time, can't wait to share more.

As for the alter holding the Sphere of Galaxies, that is a mini Triceratops skull primed and then painted a bone color with the horns from the Carnosaur riders seat and an ornament from the stegadon kit! Its a special part of my on going narrative for my army and was made special for my Star Priest :) cant remember where I got them from but I can dig around if you want, really really glad you like it!

I also am going to look into better lighting so you can actually see the creek she is crossing, any suggestions on that?

C&C Always Welcome and Appreciated!!

It looks awesome, but... how do you play with it? Or transport it? Don't you fear damaging the trees?
Im not a player at this point, so I dont fear for the trees quite yet. I am more into the painting and story telling right now, eventually Ill be telling a story through pictures.

If I do start playing the trees arnt glued in, but are just secured by being jabbed into the styrofoam; so they can easily be taken out if needed and safely transported.

The Thunderlizard when shes done will be the true transportation hazard...ughh lol

Thank you! I am glad you like it! Im very excited about it lol keep looking at it in awe
