Are you saying Gillette branded products are gone / discontinued?
No, I was talking hypothetical if the brand was sold not destroyed. It's not feasible for a stupid ad to literally destroy a brand. Gillette is a very big company. If the sales volume fell by half it would still be one of the top sellers of shavers.
This is only made worse by the fact that we live in a post-truth era where feelings are treated with greater reverence than facts, and lies of omission are the norm when it comes to pushing for societal change.
I loathe being in a post-truth era...
Imagine a commercial that attacked women as Gillette attacked men. It would NEVER happen (even though there are just as many horrible women out there as there are horrible men).
Someone made a commercial like that just to prove a point. Youtube took the video down and demonetized the channel that made it.
Regardless of political stances, it probably isn't a great business decision to crap on your primary consumer base. Other companies should take note and learn from Gillette's 8 billion dollar boo boo.
We may have taken a loss on the whole Captain Marvel nonsense, but I'm marking this one down in the win column. Get Woke, Go Broke!
Nike is doing well with woke advertisment campaigns. That makes sense because Nike's customer base leans towards young people and SJW causes. I don't agree with them but that doesn't matter, I wasn't one of their customers.
Chickfile has political leanings in the
other direction that I disagree with. They are doing strong economically because
their customer base is pretty socially Conservative. I don't agree with them, but that doesn't matter, I wasn't one of their customers
All things considered, if I was running a business I would not let any of my political views slip and tell my employees to do likewise. In most cases I can at least understand the rationale behind views I disagree with. One exception.

Ocean's 8 did okay. It didn't break any records but it made a decent profit. It's the best counter example to Get Woke, go broke. Ghostsbusters 2016 was a dumpster fire. Going woke doesn't actually weaken a media franchise.
If the writing sucks, the movie, TV show, comic, or novel will suck. Being woke does not have a causational relationship with being a dumpsters but the two seem to have a correlational relationship.
I would watch it!
