AoS How do you deal with Nagash/Endless spell spam

. I find that in particular the vampire lord on zombie dragon can be focused down and killed. It may be 400 ish points, but it only has 14 wounds and a 3+. Killing it with say a carnosaur, a round of shooting with some Bastiladons, ripperdactyls, or a big blob of saurus can do it in.

No way.
Not when the VLoZD is immune to rend with the artefact and rerolls 1s tnx to Nagash's c.a.
It's wounded only when it rolls a 2 on saves, and can be healed.
You need mortal wounds, otherwise it's almost unkillable.

The trick is to kill it before Nagash gets to use him Command Ability or someone gives it Arcane Shield. My buddy use to run Nagash, VLoZD w/amulet, and bunch of Chainrasp & Grimghast. If you get first turn you can pretty reliably kill the VLoZD with Shadowstrike and occasionally Thunderquake in my experience. It isn't much scarier than any of the "unkillable" behemoths.

This exactly. Try to pick off minor heroes who provide deathless minions and can return slain summonable units. They will be more achievable targets than snipping Nagash.

Yep, that's correct.
And swarm the battlefield with summoned units. Nagash sits at 850 pts, you can have more bodies since the beginning

Well Yes, it can be done but it's not the easiest thing to do.

Same tactics works though. If you kill Nagash before the VLoZD gets it's turn then the player will have to choose between battleshock immunity, returning slain summonable units, or re-roll 1's to save. If you bring LoN to that point the you have won.

Went 2-1 at locals today with LizardWizard’s Dracothion tail list. Lost to legions of grief. Tried to play it like you guys said and got on the objective early but couldn’t hold against the ghosts. Wiped units just kept coming back. It was rough.

Played a shootcast army rd 1. He turtled hard when he saw the rippers and I just kept putting guys on the objectives so he could never fully shoot them off. Rd 2 played the grief player and lost. Rd 3 played DOK a It was a close game but I was able to summon enough speed bump skinks that I squeaked out a win.

Out of curiosity, where were you finding this in the GHB? I've skimmed through it and I can't find any mention of new command abilities for LoN...

It is one of the three new generic command abilities available to all armies.

I don't have my GH handy, but I can look it up later for you if no one else beats me to it. They are shortly after terrain rules and the new triumphs if I remember correctly though.
