What are you doing today hobbywise?

Got some resin today! Bugman and Troggoth Hag arrived.

Got a long weekend so am planning the next three days of Stegadon painting.

Living the dream......

I did pre-order the GHB 2019 and a 120mm oval base for my Stegadon.

I painted all leather on Carno Cow and the main color of the base

Experimented with contrast paints by painting some skaven.

Yesterday, a fellow local at my GW expressed interest in playing a game of Adeptus Titanicus for the first time. I took him up on his offer today with a small skirmish game in-store with matched forces each consisting of a warlord (2 bellicosa volcano cannons and apocalypse missile launchers), a reaver (laser blaster, gatling laser, and apocalypse missile launcher), and 2 warhounds (one with a blasma blastgun and inferno cannon, the other with a vulcan mega-bolter and turbolaser destructor). Due in large part due to dice rolls, including a rather unfortunate shutdown of my opponent's warlord due to my using the Sabotage strategem, it became rather lopsided in my favour.

I also picked up the 2019 General's Handbook for AoS before returning home to start painting my skaven BloodBowl team with some contrast paints.

After picking up WD and 3 x paints yesterday, I'm ready to carry on with the Stegadon. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel as I am getting close to painting the platforms and, once I've finished them, I can assemble the Skinks. Loving this project.

......and also tying to work out what I can add to my 2500 point Seraphon army as, post GH19, it's now woth 2400.

I decided to treat myself today...

I don’t have a subscription as I just like to buy the White Dwarfs with a large amount of content that interests me, and this is the first one I’ve bought in quite a while (as my fave AoS army is covered in great detail) - the last one I bought was the September 2018 issue when the new edition of the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game came out.

Really looking forward to reading it and analysing the new Fyreslayer stuff! :joyful:

I've put my hands upon the second-to-last codex for skaven (WHFB), so I'm having some good time. :D

I'm assuming you're talking about the 6th Edition one?

Would be interesting to see if they had the same army special rules even then. I started Skaven quite late into 8th so have the 7th book and the Thanquol End Times book but not the 6th one.

Yesterday I bought a new pot of Evil Sunz Scarlet. Not the most exciting hobby purchase in the world, but my previous pot dried up and was looking to get a new one for a while, so needed to be done (besides I have so many kits still to make it would be just pure Ferengi greed to buy another box of something).

Today, before finishing my Saurus, I will be going through my paints to see if there are any other old pots of finished stuff that need to be thrown away (as, being a natural hoarder, I sometimes forget to part with old pots of paint that have served me well over the years but inevitably have to be sent to the great paint collection in the Spirit World...).

Also my dad bought a pot of Apothecary White Contrast Paint to try on his 25mm Napoleonic Bavarians, so I'm looking forward to seeing what our first pot of Contrast can do!

Doing some Commission work - Goblin pirate captain scratch build and painting a small horde of his followers.

Yep, that's it!
Some of their general rules are (more or less) the same as 7th ed. I don't know too much the 7th-8th stuff of skaven, I've buyed this one merely for the fluff, and this book was cheaper than the other one. :p

I neglected to mention that the day after I made this post, I tried my hand at the new 1000pt meeting engagement rules. On top of learning the joys of properly fielding ripperdactyls and fielding a sunblood for the first time, I felt that it was a nice change of pace from the usual 2000pt horde-fest, even when fighting against nighthaunt.

Nearly finished my second unit of Saurus - should be able to finish basing them today, and in between waiting for various parts of them to dry, I've been working on the pair of additional 5th Edition Skinks I found with 3 of the 5th Edition Saurus and a load of old Night Goblins from various editions back in September (I've got quite a few other 5th Edition Skinks that I painted quite a while before joining the forum and I have 6 5th Edition Saurus mixed in with the other members of the unit I'm currently painting).

I was at the GW store yesterday, and bought the GHB2019 and a few contrast paints.
I also tested them in the store. Pretty neat stuff.
