How utterly dire (apart from the Captain Rex cameo).

Luckily for Lucasfilm this is just a fan trailer, otherwise this is would have been the one Star Wars film I would boycott with pleasure.

Just imagine it as 'Wesley: A Star Trek story' and you can probably guess how its plot would go.

While I don’t have your dislike for the character, I don’t think doing an Ahsoka Star Wars story in the way they are proposing would be a very good idea. It would work best with other characters such as Rex, but having it in that time period would be somewhat Canon breaking, and as much of anything, I think it would be wrong to have the characters in live action. They could pull it off if they did it differently though.

Do it in animation the same of Clone Wars and Rebels, and set it after the finale of Rebels, with Ahsoka, Sabine and Rex (and possibly some others) looking for Ezra and Thrawn. However, I think the concept would probably work best as another TV series, as the ideal story for it would probably be too long to fit in a single movie. Either that, or they give Dave Filoni Rian Johnson’s trilogy to do it in, as while I have absolutely nothing against Rian Johnson and The Last Jedi, I think this is a story that would work best

Ahsoka is significantly better than Wesley.

But why do you think she's better? As far as I can see, both are irritatingly super-powered characters that always save the day by doing things the other characters don't think to do despite them being far more experienced, intelligent and wise than Ahsoka/Wesley.

Her story arc in Clone Wars was pretty good towards the end. I think she experiences her fair share of failures. I can think of a lot of Star Wars characters that are far worse than her.

She isn't anywhere near the level of Mary Sue that Rey is.

Have you heard the news that George has been working with J.J.? As long as both have stuck to working on their fortes (George with world-building, storytelling and character ideas and J.J. with the actual script), things hopefully might be looking up for Episode IX. Of course on the other hand there is the inherent fear that J.J. could be in charge of the story and George could be in charge of the script... ;)

I have heard the same. It provides a small glimmer of hope, but to be honest I think they have messed up the story beyond repair. I'm not sure if the last movie can "fix" it all.
