Blog NIGHTBRINGER's Painting Blog - 1000 point (not so) year end Chaos Dwarfs challenge (78.2%)

Wow, that is some amazing work!

I'm curious if you have ever used it in a game. What sort of stats would your give it? It should have at least a couple of dozen wounds.

Thank you very much! :)

In relation to your questions (which I assume are in reference to my "Bronti" conversion), I have never used him in game. He is based on a Stegadon base (I play 8th edition WFB) so he could easily take the place of an Engine of the Gods Stegadon. I have considered writing some rules for him, but I have been too distracted with my Tomb Kings (for which I have recently created two sets of character rules). Perhaps one day I'll write some epic rules for him. To be honest, he isn't even painted yet .

I would love to see what you come up with for those, and present them on an unofficial Army Book Page like you did with Akamun - have you ever thought of writing an unofficial Army Book called Warhammer: NIGHTBRINGER, complete with its own cover, as a collection of all the unofficial rules for your characters?

Thank you.

So far I've posted the rules for Akamun, Ra'nubis and Zky'Wok-or. The former two for Tomb Kings and the latter for Lizardmen. I have a bunch more that are complete to various degrees.

That is an interesting thought. In a of Monstrous Arcanum sort of style, but focusing on WoC, Lizardmen and Tomb Kings special characters. It might be fun. So far, most of the special characters and their rules/fluff are simply rattling around in my brain and in need of finalization and a write up. They all need conversions too!

Great! Are the rules for Ra’Nubis and Zky’Wok-or in Unofficial Army Book style pages like the one for Akamun? Regardless, I remember the Ra’Nubis thread but this is the first I’ve heard of Zky’Wok-or. Where did you post his rules?

It’s certainly a good idea to write all your character ideas down before you forget them. If you like, once you’ve produced your unofficial book, I can store a link to it in my Unofficial Army Book index, the Great Library of Lunaxoatl, alongside the various army rules I’m writing and any others from other authors from this forum - I have my own Great Plan of having this thread as one big reference section for all unofficial rule sets. There’s a link to it on my signature, and it details some summaries of the works I’ve got in the pipeline, from those that are around halfway there such as Warhammer: Cult of Grimnir and Warhammer: Tilea, to those that are still figments of imagination in my head, such as Warhammer: Sea Elves, my Warhammer Fantasy take on the Idoneth. Let me know if you’re interested anyway. :)

Ra'nubis is still in rough format. Zky'Wok-or was the very first custom character I ever created. I finished him many years ago, including a fluff write-up. His pages are in 7th Edition format.

@Warden had been inquiring about some of the elements of my fluff so I attached the Zky'Wok-or pdf in the Ra'nubis thread. It can be found (attached) here:

I agree. I have rough notes laying out the key points for several characters in a Word file. I've only ever completed a handful of them. Alas, my fluff building is even more scarce than my painting (and we know how much of rarity that is!)

My well overdue second Marauder unit filler (and the completion of the entire 50 strong great weapon wielding Marauder horde)....

And here is the completed unit. For those just tuning in for the first time, I converted all the models to carry great weapons. My wife, painted the individual marauders (except for the ones on the unit fillers) and I painted the two unit fillers.

With this unit finished, the left over Marauders (with hand weapon + shield) that were seen in the earlier picture now form their own unit, standing at 14 strong + Wulfrik.

@Lord-Marcus : how many model equivalents does the 3X3 marauder + bear unit filler count as?

Thank you kindly my friend! :):)

And yes, I do agree that me painting a model is indeed a rare occasion. Although, I'm currently working on another one!
