GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

No previews for the main games from GAMA yet, but for the first time in at least 15 years, Warhammer gets some Halflings:

Yes, Halflings are coming to Blood Bowl, a team that makes even Goblins look like pros.

Now fans of the Warhammer Hobbits will be able to buy some GW-approved minis for their unofficial army of the little blighters and arm them with all sorts of spare bits from Gnoblar and Goblin kits to give them at least a hope of standing up to an enemy unit in games of Warhammer Fantasy...:hilarious:

Just learned that Skarbrand is capable of dishing out 16 mortal wounds

Update: He can one-shot a Dread Saurian. Just with his axe

Sadly all they’ve got to show us today is another lot of pointless Chaos miniatures players have been converting for years for Blackstone Fortress. Absolutely pathetic considering they had the whole day to preview new stuff for the main games.

Just two more updates to come, and over in Britannia the first of these will be released so late in the evening today that I won’t be able to see it until tomorrow and the second so early tomorrow morning that again I won’t be able to see it until later.

Edit: I’m sorry for my extreme negativity here - I was just expecting so much more today given the delectifying Halfling appetiser we had yesterday.

I bet @TheCrazyKhorneGuy is getting into a frenzy of Khornate excitement hearing about this ;)

I’m not too worried myself yet - I’m confident that when they do bring the Fyreslayers update out it’ll make the Khorne update look underpowered, especially if they give more of their units Wards with the runic power. Just imagine a Magmadroth with 4+ Ward laughing off Skarbrand’s axe...

In all seriousness though, Khorne was an easy Army for Fyreslayers to fight in the past, and when our update comes, they will be similarly easy again...

Weeeell, a chap can dream :D

Also, if any army were to become a solid Khorne melee counter, Fyreslayers would be a good choice as they’re better armoured and were just as Killy before this new update. Updating them to be similarly Killy again would provide a counter to armies like Khorne that deal out punishment but can’t take it in return.

To be honest what surprises me most is that this is again going to add new artifacts and spells and such while the realm spells and such are still relativly recent. Once this releases there'l have been 2 major expansions to the core game, while loads of armies are still on their Original tome that came with the first release, which is rather weird…


Also, I get that in the narrative it makes sense for there to be yet another chamber openend. But This can't be fun anymore if you're an SCE player either, you can barely build and paint your army before a new chamber opens and the whole balance of the faction shifts again. Let alone if you're a collector, it's basicly impossible to keep up. A break at some point would be nice.
 
To be honest, even though it says ‘Stormvault’, I just don’t think it’ll be another Sigmarine chamber - Stormvault just clashes with ‘Stormcast’ too much (the ‘Stormcast Stormvault Chamber’? Seriously?). I don’t know what’ll turn up, but this is an expansion that GW says will affect every army, so it’ll probably be just a load of extra magic items or something.

I know it was a bit much to ask for GW to give us yet another army preview when Khorne is just being released, but I’m still disappointed by the end result of this set of trade show previews - just expansions on previews for stuff that was already teased ages ago for AoS, and a pointless set of Chaos miniatures for 40K (although those Halflings are great, I love them). I just wanted to see what the next army to get attention was after being thoroughly disappointed by seeing Khorne being next in that previous event preview.
 
I read that the GW Facebook team already confirmed that Stormvault will not be a new SCE chamber.

Also it seems I missed the Lizardmen and Tomb Kings teasers people are talking about.
I don't see anything that screams TK or Lizardmen to me.

The forbidden power sounds like magic, hence seraphon.
The video linked a bit earlier by @Cristhian MLR shows a room with some egyptian looking statues in front of it, they look like jackals. Hence a bit tomb-king-eqsue
