GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Honestly I’d be so annoyed if that happened. We only just had the stupid Sacrosanct Chamber last year!
I would be too. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like some new Seraphon as much as anyone else, but I would be incredibly surprised if it was. For me, the Ruination Chamber seems the most likely bet, although I’m not sure what other direction they would go with it. Extremis was supposed to provide them with cavalry, Vanguard with the more scouty/skirmishy angle and Sacrosanct was to coincide with Malign Sorcery. My only other thought would be large scale war machines, but that would probably require an enemy faction that would have the same, and the only one of them if Skaven, who we’ve already seen what new models they are getting and war machines sufficient to require Stormcast reinforcements (I.e. necessary that new players have access to them) don’t really seem to be present, so hopefully that’s in favour of no new Stormcast. At worst case though, I still don’t think it’s worth getting too upset by. If you can enjoy the models, do, and if you can’t, ignore them. Games Workshop aren’t knocking down your door and demanding that you buy them - all this has to be is a slight delay where no meaningful models to you are released, and meanwhile more money comes in for the stuff you do like. Because at the end of the day, Games Workshop wouldn’t be releasing loads of them if they weren’t good for business, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually end up paying for many of the othe releases that we do like. You don’t have to like them, but if money earned from them allows for the creation of fantastic new Seraphon/Fyreslayers etc, I think we can afford to tolerate them.

Flesh eater courts rules for endless spells and terrain. The spell and throne are further connected to summoning/keeping your stuff alive which I do like. Especially the throne as it requires your king to be near it. It's now actually an interesting terrain piece to take control of for your opponent as well as the downside for being near it isn't nearly as devestating as some of the other ones, nor does it have as massive a range.

You know how a little while ago a price hike was announced for start collecting boxes? They've implemented it, what's however kinda weird is the various sets are no longer the same price. varying from 65 to 80 euro's for Mainland europe. This seems like rather a massive difference, and seems like a bad idea since it's not necesarly the most usefull boxes that are the most expensive…

Also, the Original price was 65, that's nearly a 25% pricehike on the ones that went to 80. That seems a tad excesive as well....

I feel it's a bad idea myself, looking from a starting out standpoint. If a new person wanted to start the hobby and how the SC are good choices, the new varying prices might make the person go with the cheaper one. With all the SC being the same price it gives the person a better choice to pick something out they like. In the UK that £5-10 rise will probably make newcomers look at the cheaper ones instead.
The humour that the SCE is still £50.

Just typical that Sylvaneth filth are £55 while Fyreslayers and Kharadron are now £60 :sour:

A Start Collecting box for Idoneth is on its way next week - unfortunately it has those Namarti Thrall models (that I’m not the most keen upon without modification) in it but there will be some Eel Cavalry and that great-looking Soulrender model in it as well. Would have ideally liked to see an Allopex in it as well, but considering the Eel Cavalry are a whopping £30 for three models separately, that isn’t too bad a deal.

What do you hate more Sylvaneth or WoC?

WoC I dislike principally because of their broken rules, while Sylvaneth I dislike because of all the favouritism they get (I’d say they’re second after Sigmarines in terms of favouritism) yet all their newer models are just so bad in comparison to the older ones. Although I did also say that WoC also got too much favouritism during the 8th Edition era (where they got 2 lots of releases while most races got 1 despite already being top tier). I’d say they’re about even on my scale of dislike.

Sylvaneth get favouritism?
I must have missed that.

They did get buffed up a lot when the new Edition came out with the new rules for magic, and they’re really featured a lot in the lore from what I can see. I think the only nerf I remember them getting recently was Alarielle only being able to summon a unit once per battle rather than more regularly, but maybe there are more, I don’t know. Certainly GW like featuring them in their lore over other races and their SC box was made cheaper than those for some of the other races, indicating GW want more people to collect them rather than those races whose SC boxes they increased more.

They are indeed weirdly present in various bits of fluff. But that might just be that the first big campaign seems to have centered around the realm of life... the rest seems to mostly have been small pushes here and there to get an artifact or some such. Whereas the realm of life was a proper campaign to gain control of the entire thing and get alarielle to start doing stuff again.

Why do so many chaos space marines have that weird tuft of hair? It looks weird.

The top knot? I don't know either. All I know is that it's also practiced by the White Scars among other loyalist legions and successor chapters, and that the kind of top knot depicted is often associated with steppe peoples such as cossacks, huns, and mongols.
