The original ending certainly pulled on some heart strings. I definitely didn't see it coming. To be honest, I like both versions and would have been happy with either.Well Adult Swim let me watch Samurai Jack without paying money (but I had to sit through COMMERCIALS)
The alternate ending is sweet and all but I think the actual ending is better done from an artistic stand point. I guess I like bittersweet endings because I am a sadomasochist. I think happy endings are more meaningful when they come at a cost and this was still a happy ending even with the loss.
And the three gods that made up the Big Good Ra, Rama, and Odin were not the sorts of deities to micromanage happiness. If they could bend space and time to get Jack his fiance back, they should have been able to stop Aku before he tore up Japan.
Maybe I'm used to Slann too much, but I think Big Good characters should rarely be warm and fuzzy.
In an slightly off topic comment, I'm still waiting 16 years for Reboot to get a 5th Season to wrap up its cliffhanger ending, instead it looks like i'm getting a rebooted show with little of the original concept and characters remaining. If Samurai Jack got this treatment, I'd understand the negative reception a lot more.

That might be a tough one, at least in 28mm scale. There are many larger figures available as well as much smaller ones...I have been looking to find a model that would stand in for the fat scotsman… haven't found anything remotely close yet.![]()

...but I don't know of any 28mm models.
Aku can be any size. As the shape-shifting master of darkness, he can drastically alter his size to suit his needs.Aku should be bigger.
