I tried my hand at converting a skink to a chameleon skink and wanted to share my progress.
To do:
Basing
Redo the eyes
Improve the feathers
Tips/feedback is appreciated

The eye kind of gets lost in the helmet maybe if you can just glaze it a bit towards yellow or green? Chameleon eyes are pretty colourful like the rest of their skin. Other then that it looks like you did a great little conversion there. Going to make a little squad of them?
Very nice, I agree about the eyes a bit too white atm, I love the colours and the headdress is a master stroke![]()
I love your palate. You captured the feel of a chameleon. You did a particularly good job at blending out the stomach from a more yellow-green to true green. The blend to red was also well done. It can be tricky to blend contrasting colors, but you did a wonderful job of it. Perhaps try adding some additional colors beyond the sky blue for the raised scales along the back. maybe transition the scales from pastel purples through blues and into reds.
It could just be the photograph that is casting the hyper-highlight points, but one thing I am learning to get better about myself is implied textures. Chameleons have a fairly rough skin. It might help imply the surface texture a little better if you lightly stipple your highlights instead of doing longer line highlights that make the surface look wet or glossy.
It really is a lovely little Chameleon Skink!
Looks good! I’m not sure if you said it but how did you do the eyes?
