I got the soul wars models and 2 extra characters for £29 not received them yet so unsure of the extra characters.

They still kinda look like Dwayne Johnson in plate armor, but... I actually like those guys!

Those are :rolleyes: not SCE. Scrape their shields free of hammers, give them a decent hat, refrain from gold paint and presto! No Stormcast...

Hello all (haven’t been on in a while - just lurking in the background) as I’ve been super busy outside.

But saw this thread and couldn’t resist throwing my 2c’s in :)

Seraphon- dread Saurian - love the detail...and size! (Just wish he didn’t have a gimpy front paw)

SCE - knight Venator - he’s got an awesome pose + the eagle swooping round him just makes him look cool, around great model.

Deepkin - Lotan...or at least his Octopus, he’s just great!

Sylvaneth- Kurnoth Hunters - again great poses whatever weapons they have, brilliant detail and they look every bit the heavy duty model they are supposed to be.

DoK - Melusai blood stalkers, they just look cool.

Overlords - they all belong in 40k :D not a fan.

Fyreslayers- runewraith berserker, I like his hat :D

Vampire counts (death in general) - the craven long is a really nice model, but equally the terrorgeist is epic - he looks as his name suggests, no one would be immune to the terror of that thing hurtling towards you.

Tomb kings - casket of souls - brilliant model through and through

beastclaws - stonehorn, as soon as they where released I had to have 1...or two, great model and tons of extra bits for converting. Win win.

Ironjaws- Megaboss, again he’s a model that looks like he should - big, mean, rough and with perfect decal.

Gobbos- mangler squiggly, epic model - looks insane which is the way it should be!

Chaos: nurgle - Slimelux - that model is awesome in the upmost, it scream (or slimes) nurgle, great pose, added humour and a total gross super detailed model. Failing that I so love the bloat flies - again perfectly nurgle.

Khorne- either slaughterpriest, good pose and just looks ‘Khorne’ bloody and threatening - everything a single model of khorne should give off.

Tzeench - ogroid- every time I look to convert a model he always look to him - he draws the eyes, he’s big mean and still flamboyant as a true Tze should be, great model.

Slanesh- their chariot...that thing is insane - a true chaotic construct, it’s hard to look at and worry about getting hurt (in real life) it’s sharp! Just imagine what a poor grot thinks when that’s beating down on it.

Slaves to chaos - the knights, they have always been the front runners of chaos - big, tough, scary and painful to enter combat with - nasty and they look great.

Beasts - jabberslyth - cool model, he’s just weird and I kinda like that, but for pure beastman grit - the bull lord looks cool, big beefy bull with a huge axe - job done.

Probably missed a few but I’m bored of writing now ;D
 
I was thinking about picking the iconic leaders.
...and I've just realized that, if we'd pick only the "true" commander of each fation, Lord Kroak is one of the less impressive models from a mere size pov.

That's right.
He isn't a huge mutated monster or a larger than life god model, just an old (in that case dead) Slann on his palanquin.

I kinda like that.
Although it goes without saying that I would enjoy him being an awesome big model like Alarielle, Nagash or so.
Maybe If they put him inside a huge magic vortex or so, kinda like the Celestant-Prime, that would look cool.
In fact I have seen such a thing here on the forums, someone used parts of Kroak, a Balewind Vortex and some Spirit Hosts to make him look huge, powerful, and awesome.
