Saw this a few minutes ago and I made noise, hype! Time to dust off the beasty boys and head to war

Well I was hoping for it to be Moonclan but I'm pleased to see Beastmen getting some love again - it's been 8 years since they've got anything and according to the large majority of the public they've been pretty weak for a while now, with Warriors and Daemons of Chaos getting the glory. Very well deserved I must admit, especially as they're going to get their own scenery piece, and it's great to see that GW haven't forgotten them. It's interesting to see that they have renamed them 'Beasts of Chaos' as per 6th Edition Fantasy rather than 'Beastmen' as they were in 7th and 8th.

mm, that leaves skaven as the only chaos faction that requires an update. We're getting there.
Though I wish they'd do some "minor" updates along the big sweeping ones like this. An updated battletome with the tekst actually corrected according to the F.A.Q.s here, a minor tweak to a unit there or maybe even a new unit to plug a gap suddenly created by powercreep. AoS seems to have all its updates be the introduction or overhaul of a complete faction, some smaller stuff could help the lesser loved factions keep up a bit more.

Then I realised the chances it would be that I won't be the only Beast player now, oh well I like being the unique player and I never saw another at my store. I guess this release would bring them now.

Yeah.
New models in the form of terrains and spells.
Pretty uninspiring, it was the perfect moment to introduce at least a couple of new real models / units (which are desperately needed).

Yeah there is that opportunity there, especially how a few comments I read that they are skipping this because of the lack of new models.
My wish from GW is an updated chariot and maybe bring Moonclaw back, him being my fave Beastmen character from fantasy

I like that they merged Brayherd and warherd + X.
That's a faction I am interested in.

Interesting... wonder if they will eventually come out with plastic models for all the chaos gods for beastmen; plastic khorngors and pestigors anyone?

I would like to see them painted in different colors though; I thought the brown they had in 6th edition was better than the orange color tone the army has now.

Makes me wish on running a Troggoth army, with the Hag leading them but they have no battleline.

Edit* Gah I might do it later on, just for the fun. I love my Troggoths but at the moment, running just them is impossible unless it's open play

Shame that there only seems to be that Herdstone and the Endless Spells coming with the Battletome - it was a really good chance for GW to release plastic chariots, Centigors and a Razorgor or two. They're probably rushing it to release that rubbishy Rogue Trader set, but at least Beastmen are getting a new set of rules. It looks like Moonclan will probably be moved to November then, as that's the only time in which it'll be likely such a significant release will be acted upon this year.

I've never really been impressed with KoW models. A few okay ones here and there, but far below GW standard in my opinion.
