Tutorial Getting the most from your Start collecting Seraphon box.

@Crowsfoot did you do anything special for the back of the standard on the standard-bearer model? I am currently working on a version of my own, an am curious if you did anything special... :snaphappy:

No I left it alone as I didn’t want to put people off making one.

You can add decorations, greenstuff etc if you wanted too.

Makes sense. I am attempting to use some cast Mayan glyphs for mine; the side effect is the standard itself is rather top-heavy. Updates to follow...

EDIT: Some WIP pictures now uploaded to my painting thread.

Defo may use that astrolith conversion. What type of clay did you use for the interior of the trog?

I'm also pretty sure you can make pauper temple guard out of the saurus weapons and brass rod

Wanted to say thank you for this awesome tutorial. I got the SC box (as a complete newb) and this thread has blown my mind! So to get this straight, following this results in a scar-veteran on carnosaur, a scar-veteran on cold one, an oldblood on foot, an astrolith bearer, a skink priest, a troglodon, and the saurus warriors and cavalry? That's kind of insane. Is the scar-vet really better than the oldblood as a carnosaur rider?

Any updates on the swimming troglodon? Would love to see it!

Scarvet or Oldblood is upto you really, the swimming trog is primed ready for painting but I have quite a few things in front of it at the moment.

If you don't want to use the base as a piece for your astrolith, you can use the troglodon collar
Thanks, good to know I have that option too. Luckily I have some spare bases laying around (both plastic and mdf). I think I will try the mdf one first and change if I don't like it. I will update how it came out with the mdf.

Would love to see that. Maybe start a blog to chart your progress as it happens?
