Leaving aside his heel, Achilles was immortal: he was a great warriors, but his victories on the battlefield are kinda clouded by that little particular. If the enemy cannot kill you, you eventually win.
Achilles murdered the priests of Apollo, then fought Hector, an honorable warrior that was respected also by greeks... he killed him (because of Athena's help) and dragged his body across the battlefield.

I just cannot stand Achilles. ;)

A cool answer doesn't change the fact that he was killed after the arrow in his heel, which was the only way to accomplish the task.

True. But in his defense, during the entire course of the movie the only time he was ever struck (besides the arrows at the end) was a slight nick/graze on the armour during the fight with Hector (who is arguably the second best fighter). So whether or not he was immortal played no part, since he avoided virtually all incoming strikes. It was a product of skill not immortality.

I did read your last post, but I could not help myself. It sucks that you have no players around. Then again, the way I look at it, not having any opponents to play against is still better than having to play AoS. ;)

It's what you get when your forced to read such awefull fluff like the WFB's end-times ;) in comparison to that any fluff is better. And no, don't blame that on AoS. The end-times is purely WFB, AoS only comes after to try and clean up the mess you left :p

By the way is kings of war actually any good? what's its selling points and such?

40k Fluff > WFB Fluff > End Times Fluff > AoS Fluff


I most definitely blame the End Times fluff on AoS. It was a transition into AoS (even rules-wise, as we saw the introduction of the combined profile). AoS had long been in the works by then, and this was a symptom of it. The brilliant master plan of Kirby :rolleyes:, who was running AoS into the ground until he was replaced and things were turned around by Rountree.


I hated the End Times all along, even as it was being introduced. Nagash was okay, but it quickly went downhill from there. I refuse to play the End Times in my WFB games. I hold nearly as much disdain for it as I do for AoS.

I already do! I've been raving and ranting about it since its inception in 2015.

That typo couldn't have been any better for me :D. I don't usually aim to exploit typos, but it was too perfect for me to resist!

I've never played it myself. From what I have heard, one of its strong points is that it is a very strategic game. It's supposed to be a quicker and more smooth version of WFB.

Ah, this needs a precisation from me. I was not talking about Achilles' character in the movie Troy, but Achilles' character as depicted in the original material. Basically, I was biased toward him before starting the vision of the movie.

Fair enough. I have not read the source material, so I can't really speak on the matter. Your analysis may very well be spot on in that context!
