so does anyone have any experience filling gaps in models with spackle?
 
Must be some major gaps... or some very fine spackle... maybe you'll find something adequate in corridor number six... in the color department... just follow the main corridor this way and then on the left hand side... opposite the carpet floor department... I'll call my colleagues and tell them you're coming...

I'm working in a diy store as a head of garden department... so if someone asks about spackle that's what I tell them...
On a serious note I'd say it's usable to fill bigger gaps... not sure how the finish will look... And how paintable it is (sucking up paint and so on)... would recommend to use it to not fill the whole thing with it, but use a tiny bit of green stuff as top coat...
