8th Ed. Help with Tehenhauin themed list

Hello guys.~

So I want to try to make a nice 2000-2500 pts list that includes Tehenhauin and some Swarms, maybe a few Bastis with Ark of Sotek... Has anyone done a list including Tehenhauin and how I'll get the most of him?
 
Don't forget you can field him with or without a stegadon mount.
also those swarms combo great with any Saurus units.

There's still room for something, but what would it be? Should I keep this list in 2000 pts or should I go 2500 pts ..? Any suggestions how to make my list better or what I should try out?
 
You could add some stegadons or skink priest, never hurts to add some skinks either...
some Saurus Cav with a scar vet would work too.... :shifty:

Yea, I think some Coldone Cav with a full command and a Scar-Vet would realy help,
you could use a good flanking unit. ;) probably be a small unit, since points are getting tight.

I forgot to ask:

Since I haven't used COC like ... Nearly at all, how many should I take? 10? 15? Should I give them spears? What about the Scar-Vet, how should I kit him on a Cold One?

Great theme for an army! The one you have right now looks great!

Only thing I would add (but only for fluffs sake) is more skinks! Skink cohorts are just cheap chaff, but a few small units of skirmishers couldn't hurt for added flexibility/shooting. Reason I say this is because Tehenhauin, prophet of Sotek, lead a giant army of red-crested Skinks into battle against the Skaven to kick them out of Lustria. Also most of the skink-priests of the Red Host used the Lore of Beasts.

Tehenhauin: most awesome skink ever.

I think so too! He's my favorite Skink and one of my favorite characters! Just pure badass!

I was thinking of going up to 2500 pts so that I could ad a small unit of COC with a Scar-Vet and some Skink Skirmishers. I'm just learning everything all over again since it's been so long time since I actually played with my army :D So now I'm going through the Lizardmen tactica and see some tips I could take in count when doing this list.~

I've got a 2500pt match against a skaven army coming up end of April and am thinking along the same lines as yourself, as I fielded Tehenhauin for the first time a few weeks ago and he was awesome to play. Here's my draft list:

Unit 1:
Old Blood (light armour, shield, armour of fortune and sword of bloodshed [3 more attacks!]), ranked with 35 Saurus Warriors (full command, spears). 6 wide, 6 deep

Unit 2:
Tehenhauin+ 3 jungle swarms. 4 wide 1 deep

Unit 3:
Scar Vet (BSB skavenpelt, enchanted shield, sword of swift slaying, light armour, ironcurse icon and talisman of protection), ranked with 23 saurus warriors full command. 6 wide, 4 deep

Unit 4:
"Skipper" (my skink chief build on ripperdactyl, dragonhelm, light armour, shield, spear, egg of Quango)

Unit 5: lvl 2 skink priest (heavens), dispel scroll. Ranked with 10 skirmishers with javelins

Unit 6:
Bastiladon Ark of Sotek

Unit 7:
Bastiladon Solar Engine

Unit 8: 5 chamo skinks

Unit 9: 3 roving kroxigors, including Nakai

Unit 10: razordon+ extra snack

Unit 11: salamander+extra snack

Main idea is to run Tehenhauin and the swarms between my two SW blocs so that they all get poison attack, and run the ark of Sotek behind the Tehen unit to continually generate swarms and protect rear flank.
Skipper is my shit stirrer. Everything else is flanks and distractions.

Considering dropping the solar engine and Kroxis for an ancient steg for just all out poison fest, but am unsure.

Ok, list updated due to some insider knowledge that my opponent rolls with a warlord armed with the bloody fellblade:

Unit 1: Oldblood w/piranha blade, stegadon helm and potion of foolhardiness; ranked with 29 saurus warriors at full command w/ spears (6 wide x 5 deep)

Unit 2: Tehenhauin ranked with 3 swarms (4 wide x 1 deep, with room to grow thanks to Ark of Sotek)

Unit 3: ScarVet w/ skavenpelt BSB, light armour, enchanted shield, sword of swift slaying, talisman of protection; ranked with 24 saurus warriors at full command (5 wide x 5 deep)

Unit 4: Bastiladon w/Ark of Sotek (rear flank, feeding Unit 2)

Unit 5: lvl 2 skink priest (heavens) w/dispel scroll ranked with 16 skinks w/ javelins and hatred (skaven) + 1 kroxigor, champion and standard (5 wide x 4 deep)

Unit 6: 10x skink skirmishers (pipes)

Unit 7: 5x chamo skinks

Unit 8: Bastiladon w/ Solar Engine

Unit 9: salamander w/extra snack

Unit 10: salamander w/extra snack

To be honest whole theme is Poison, Skinks and anti Skave so i wouldnt take Saurus. So the Hatred against sakve isnt worth it in a competitive list unless u know u go against skaven.
