9th Age 9th Age (beta) out now - check link in first post

I disagree. We're a very versatile army and not a combat army in the same way WoC is a combat army. If we're adding in sacred spawns I'd like it to reflect versatility and not just be a straight up power boost to our combat efficiency :)

Ok thx for your pov and the feedback :)

I don't know if it has been stated here already, I don't recall it and I'm fairly sure I have seen most of this threads post.

The ws3 for skinks is a mistake; all skinks, with exemption of the chiefs, has a ws2, just like they always have had.

This is of course, completely fair, it means they still don't like CC, but that's mainly what we always knew.

Completely fair... ok, but I like the idea of cohorts with ws3, and skirmishers ws2, it sounds logical (it reminds me the Lustria book in 7th).

In the same way, ws2 on ripper is just a shame (but that was before too). We already have the worst monstruous cavalry in the entire game in term of stats: T3, 2 wounds, and in combat the ennemies hit against ws2... Rippers are too expansive now, with their nerf (less attacks and no reroll). That was one the things that shocked me with the 8th army book. Look at the model of a saurus warior, and then a ripper: the first is T4, and the second, T3? oO God damn, wtf?

Finally, Born predator is a very good rule, better than before. But why aren't the carnosaur and rippers born predators? It sounds so weird.

Except those points (and of course the slann, but no need to talk about it again, I just agree with others), I really enjoy the work on this 9th age!

Hasael.

Razordons got unnecessarily nerfed too. :(

So uh.. I didn't become a moderator, but they still wanted me so they'll try and find something for me to do :p

I must say i have very mixed feelings on the changes 9th Age brings. The ridden monster rules are garbage, the slann is horrible now, cant remember other issues i had. There are also some good changes tho. I dont think its going to matter much for me as my community will be going the Kings of War route which i am happy about. KoW is a fantastic game with a ton of tactical depth in the movement phase. Still interested to see how 9th Age ends up tho.

Other more qualified applicants :)

Did anyone notice this yet. Skirmishers cannot march and shoot (edit lol)
Skinks are garbage now.
Also double flee doesnt work anymore, which is understandable though.

Do you mean cannot march and shoot?

So first the Slann, then the Razordon and now our skinks are nerfed!?!?
Yes indeed cant march and shoot, brainfart. Hehe.
And yes, no reason to take skinks until they fix this

That really sucks considering that we already have a very limited number of core units. These changes really diminish the variety of play styles we had previously enjoyed in 8th.

I feel a disturbance in the force geomantic web. :shifty:

oh wow that have to be a mistake. Why would you limit the few ranged skirmish units like that?
