Hey all

I got my delivery of 4x terradon/ripper boxes, so 12 models in total. ( my first of these) Now I want to know how to create units for them.

4* possibilities.
Unit of 3 terradons + 3 terradons + 3 rippers + 3 rippers.

Unit of 2× 4 terradons and 1x 4 rippers.

Unit of 1x 4 terradons and 2x 4 rippers.

* And the new 3 Terradon , 6Rippers and 3 Rippers.

Pls explain why you picked what you picked. Give me some info on what might be the best choice. For example why take m in units of 4 or why in units of 3? Thx in advance.

For the poll I picked 2x 4 terradons and 1x4 rippers. Mainly because 4 is better then 3 vs shooting and having to make ld tests more frequently and because i think i would put chiefs on Terradons only and not rippers.

Well if you want to be flexible then:

1 unit of 6 rippers
1 unit of 3 rippers
1 unit of 3 terradons

1 unit of 6 rippers can cut through almost anything that isn't I5 with S5/S6. See the tactica where Ripperderek posted the math behind them - spoiler alert they kill anything with great weapons.

1 unit of 3 ripperdactyls is there to allow for a second toad and making the first big unit more flexible. It also adds to the psycological effect.

The unit of terradon is there to act as normal terradons :)

Just a suggestion.

I was going to edit my post saying: there will be no more boxes purchased... after 1 post I'm like.. maybe just 1 box extra? XD damn you! 3options and you take a fourth. :d

I would make 4R and 4T and leave the last four to be decided later after some battle experience.

That might actually be a nice plan. With 9th edition beta now. I could wait untill beta army books show up etc... might be the way to go. Thx for the advice! Always hard to leave mini's alone though :p

After you have assembled 8 you'll have direct xp and knowledge which will let you ponder the feasibility of making the last four in some kind of magnetized head-swappable configuration.

Potentially those could switch from 4T to 4R as required.

I'm not particulary good in the hobby department of the game. Would be nice if i was. Im just not :). And probably (definatly) too friggin lazy. Having to push myself to paint every day now..

I would go 4x T 4x R 4x R. In my area units of 6 are focused down very fast and never get anywhere. Units of 3 get shot down because easy points. I generally run them in units of 4, because I prefer multiple units of 4 than one unit of 6 and smaller units.

thanks for your input :). Valid point you make there.
