9th Age Discussion of OpenHammer (ETC) and Ninth Age (Swedish Comp)

I'd rater they went the opposite route, and made every army overpowered instead,
what way everybody would be happy, and things would still be balanced.

Seems like they took all the personality out from the lizardmen army..

This is not far from my first impression of openhammer. The -1 Ld seems like such a turn off. Basically the one thing we're good at as an army, nerfed. ..

Yea, completely agree.

After reading over the suggested changes on OpenHammer for Lizardmen, I do not feel this one is something I would enjoy playing.

It actually felt like the changes applied to us, has been done by someone who does not play Lizardmen themselves or have it as an additional army.

I was actually wondering, if anybody knows something about, the thought process that openhammer has gone through, to create these new armies?
I would assume some of the changes are made, due to the fact that they are overhauling the entire game.
Do they have a forum? If I remember correctly, it's some Italians, so I wouldn't understand if they did.

Concerning OpenHammer I absolutely agree. Swedish Comp on the other hand appear to be what people wanted and expected from 9th edition.

Overall it would appear that people on warhammer.org like our suggestions. That's nice :D

I think everyone should start posts from the name of the system :-D
Openhammer looks like someone is doing their own game. "Maybe someone other will play it, maybe not. We do what we want "

It is another thing to divide community. But the Swedish guys are doing this as part of community, and partially we can watch this

Some people have confused me in the thread and yeah OH feels awkward and 9th Age the game we wanted all along.

Yes Pinktaco, I'm on that boat as well ;)
Openhammer seems odd, for no particular reason.

How would people feel about great weapons for saurus warriors? 2 pts a model. More drastic than some of the other suggestion though.

Feels like a bit if a a cheat :P I like it, but it doesn't feel fair!
Sauruses would loose +4/+6 and gain S6; that seems like a lot, when considering that they all ready strikes last pretty much always, anyway.

so.... +3 or +4 points a model then.... :P

Perhaps if they dropped one point, in base cost, and then something like 3 or 4 pts for GW....but to be begin with, the point drop properly isn't fair :confused:o_O

Just to clarify, my thoughts are mainly focused on the fact that I wouldn't want to make ordinary (shield and hand weapon/spears) saurus warriors obsolete

Perhaps, GW Saurus could be a special or rare choice instead of core?

Hmm yeah well it was just an idea :D

I like the concept, it's most likely just difficult to completely comprehend how this would effect the choice:) perhaps starting by making it a 3 pts upgrade, if they then won't see a lot of use decrease it to 2 pts ;)
