I enjoy heaven. Good augment/hex, high strength damage spells and the comet to do damage and force people to move. The lore can be very good against MMU armies since both the comet and chain-lightning are good against those.

I see very little love for shadow. Great lore to save Temple Guard for miscasts!

Shadow is my second favorite BRB lore. But you didn't ask my second favorite. I am surprised Light hasn't gotten an actual majority. I am curious as to the three Heavens voters. Are you guys counting Tet as a "Slann" or is there some hidden benefit to Heavens Slann I'm not seeing?

I'm not surprised Fire is not on the list. If I were playing Siege I'd probably take it. I've had some luck with it versus Orcs and Goblins but I would not take it in an all-comer's environment.

It's a pretty solid lore. I didn't think it would lead the pack, but I figured it would be ahead of Heavens or Beasts.

Not really that surprising, I figured that Life and Death would give it some competition.

No surprises there!

Looks like I'm typical, lol. Light every time if I have to have a preference. Severely miss having loremaster however.

Light covers our weaknesses. Giving Saurus/Krox/Stegs/Carnos/SVs/OBs WS10 and I10 is pretty awesome. Extra attacks are always welcome too.

For a second I'd go Life. It's the opposite of Light to me. It increases our strengths.

I love you
We love you too!!

Why does heaven needs hidden secret? It's packed with high strength spells, comet dictates movement (which is golden) and augment make up for our low WS and make our great weapon guys auto wound.

Iceshard blizzard is great and the other hex I'd fine as well, oh and then there's the wind blow spell, I never liked that one. The "trick" I suppose is that by adding a heaven priest you can potentially easier get what you want on the slann.

All heaven spells are easy to cast, the comet have a casting value of 12+ and chain-lightning 15+.

I can see why light is a favorite among most, but giving saurus warriors WS10/I doesn't really change the current meta, unfortunately.

Instead high strength spells is something you can always rely on. Or well.. One should never rely on magic to begin with :p

Again, I don't see why heaven should somehow justify itself as a good lore more than other lores. The only thing it truly lack is a unit eating spell.

I think the general rule of thumb is that taking a slann on heavens, in a situation where you could have just taken Tetto'Ekko, isn't really the best way to spend those points. Off course, tetto is a special character and only a lvl 2, but the loremaster aspect and all the extra bonuses that he brings are so, so good.

Of course, if tetto is banned for whatever reason then I agree, heavens is still a good lore. I just don't think the level 4 bonus outweighs loremaster, vanguard, rerolling comet and the rerolling 1's/6's

There's still quite a difference. Sure tetto brings quite some neat special rules, but so does a slann. A slann can quite handily gather more power dice and more better dispel ability through disciplines. That's not to mention being bunkered with guards, vastly more wounds and a better ward. Finally there's the obvious Lvl 4 issue both defensive wise and offensive - this is further enhanced by the disciplines.

Tetto is s very good substitute for a sslann, but he doesn't rule out a slann. Besides picking tetto + slann is quite n expensive combo although there's no denying it's good one.

Lore of heaven slann is very viable saying otherwise is ridiculous. There re pros and cons for both a slann nd tetto. Btw my keyboard on my phone is bugged currently.

You're right; it isn't a bad lore but at the same time it's nothing special. I also find it a bit boring to use, but that is just personal taste.
Well, if we had option to take fire, I wouild really consider taking it for lvl2 skink. Spell no.2 is good, +fireball.

Fireball is a useful spell no doubt. But there are so many more superior lores I would prefer. Fire is pretty much my last choice, its useful, but extremely straight forward.

Yeah, I wouldnt choose it for lvl4, but for lvl2, I would.

Question-If you raise a big beasty in lizards using Undeath would it be a Fossil?

I would go for life. But I dont have enough lizardmen experience yet to make a proper choice (so i haven't ticked of the poll) The choice for life probably comes from my frustrations with playing with Orcs and Goblins vs rediculously touch characters and mosters that will just heal up when you manage to knick a wound off, while your own characters always seem to die when somebody merely blinks in their general direction.

In the few lizardmen games i played (5: 1 win, 3 draws/minor losses, and 1 time got tabled. ) so far I have been messing around with the High magic loremaster slann.

Would you still choose it if our skink priest could choose any of the BRB lores?
Yeah, flaming swords of rhuin+fireball is nice addition to a lvl4. For a lvl2 choosing from any lore, what might be the best? 100% chance to have the signature, but very low chance to have a specific spell, so I wouldnt build anything around it. And from the signature spells, fireball is one of the best considering we are talking about a lvl2 skink priest. Personally, I love heavens aswell, and beast might come in 3rd place for lvl2. So, for lvl2 caster: heavens>fire>beast [for me]. Death would be obvious, but skinks with their low ld...

i would normally go beasts, high or life (light when vs undead) but i cast my vote to life as it has saved my bacon a few times now when it really mattered

Heavens. Good attack and buff spells. Plus I can get a EotG and have -1 casting cost for Slann and Skink Priests.

Shadow is a lore that i feel like i dont use enough. It isn't that strong against high I armies, which is my main problem with it.

Also, i just looovvveeee swapping out spells in games, it is my favorite mechanic of whole warhammer 8th, so when i get the chance to play 8th (if it is twice a year i am already happy), i just play High Slann.
