As the title says really, would be handy to be able to embed gif/gifv files... This is the future, after all?
The old ones require only glyphs to be embedded - it is their will that we do not learn from these .gifs that you speak of.
Maybe it has something to do with extended loading times. Even extremely picture heavy threads can have delayed loading. Of course I don't really know for certain, I'm just speculating.
If everyone could keep there pics under 5MP, Yea, that'd be great. 5MP = 2560 x 1920 = 4915,200 pixels
Personally I would dislike gifs in avatars and sigs. My eyeball would never read the post and I'd just end up watching the gif, lol. @Ritual, if you want to post a gif you just do it the same as you would a picture. Either click the little pic button or type in the [IMAGE] stuff. Is that helpful to you?
I personally also hate like those cluttered signatures you get on other forums filled with banners of crap you don't wanna read or sparkly piles of shite I value the maturity of the signature content on this site and it encourages you to make the space you have there more valuable
You are correct, gif files do work. I was trying to use the gifv link, which is just a webm, and that wasn't working... but research shows it should never work! Gif all the things!
