AoS Would you use movement trays?

I often play Vs Sylvaneth, I stretch the unit as much as I can to prevent the forests to pop up.
I mean, I can see if I can make you a tray that is simply a row of 5

I think for the conga line it isn't too bad to just do it with single models.
But I remember that some movement trays are really available as "bubble" (the 3-2 above) and as "line".

Looks nice. Really nice.

@Lord-Marcus
Are the internal boundaries between the bases necessary for structural reasons?

@Everyone else
How does AOS work with bases and piling in if the bases are still squares? Is it best to stagger the second rank like bricks?

I already know what I will try for Trays if I ever have a go at AOSiggy.

Yes, it's a structural thing.

Yes, it's a structural thing.
So the substrate is not strong enough on its own? to hold the weight of the Minis?

It would fold if the tray was not full when it was slid across the table?

No, it would not fold. It is structural because it keeps the minis from bumping each other and causing paint damage

I mean more like this. literally 1/2 ranks.

I thought one of the points of the round bases for AOSiggy was that they were larger than the original corresponding square cornered base was. And would thus take care of that paint-rubbing, Miniatures-tangling issue.

I have Chaos Warriors, Orc Archers, and Dwarf Ironbreakers that all have that unrankableness about them.

But my goto solution for Trays will involve magnets and round washers.

Well I'm working on expanding the range. Anyway round washers and magnets work but don't look pretty

GW definitely did a piss poor job in designing miniatures that would rank up effectively. I think all the bases should have been about 5mm bigger.

The solution I will pursue for the CWs and Dwarfs is double and Quad basing for some of them.

That is a good idea. A clever unit filler can also help out.
We may be almost on the same page. A quad based CW (as I am picturing it) is ONE guy stuck to (perhaps a rather scenic) 50x50 Base. He counts as four, like a unit filler of the same size. Other dudes that have limbs that hang over too far can overhang the empty space on his base. A double would be one guy on a 25x50 who counts as two.

I like the idea of having the quad based because that helps ranking up guys in all directions. For my 50 strong marauder horde I have two 3X3 base unit fillers.

I'm interested in 7 skink size trays (2x number 2, 5x number 3) and 7 saurus warrior size trays (2x number 5, and 5x number 6). I think I want Mayan Ruined Temple, but is there a way you can show me all the designs? How do I order? My bases are generally mud or fields with grass on em.
