AoS Would it be viable to take 12 Kroxigors if my opponet has 80 plague monks?

I'm sure there's more point-efficient ways to kill them, but the new Total War DLC makes me want an excuse to buy some. If he has so many Plague Monks then I'm hoping 4 Moon Hammers might be able to do some damage? Never used them before, just looking at the Warscroll.

The list:

Leaders:
Slann (260)
EoTG (240)

Battleline:
10 Skinks x3 (210)

Behemoths:
Bastiladon w/ Solar Engine x2 (560)

Other:
6 Kroxigors x2 (600)

Battalions:
Thunderquake (120)

Total: 1990

I'm hoping Thunderquake might help keep them alive. When it says "Each Model from Thunderquake heals D3 wounds when within 10" of a Slann", does that mean I can return models?

No.

This could work, but it's hard to say whether or not it'd be optimal without seeing the rest of his list. If he waves the monks, he can probably wipe all 3 units of skinks with the first unit, then maybe kill a unit of Kroxigors with the second. After that, it just depends on what else is in the list, because 80 monks is only 560 points. If you're able to shoot off some of his support with the bastiladons and get to charge his monks with the kroxigors, he'll be in for some pain.

It's probably worth dropping 3 kroxigors for an Astrolith bearer.

Maybe even consider stegadons whit sun fire towers for som anti horde and/or salamanders.

One problem whit stegadons and salamanders are that you cant LoST them in to shoot and stegadons cant take a punch like a bastilladon.

But they both have a solid anti horde function.

If you use the skink alfa ability on the stegadons you have a poor man's shadow strike.

But then you would need to take terradons or riperdactyls witch should be possible whit the point reduction from bastiladons to stegadons.

Agree with the others. Krox are (sadly) not worth it in any numbers if you have alternatives.

Our best anti horde weapons are
- The two new anti horde spells
- Stegadons with sunfire throwers
- Razordons
- Bastiladons (with solar engines)
- Rippers

what are the two spells? I know of stellar tempest... whats the other one that is specifically for hordes?

I... uh... sorry I had a brain fart there. What I meant is the meteor, but it isn't that great against hordes, except if you only need a wound or two to get them over the battleshock minimum. It is pretty useful against the heroes buffing the horde though.

Probably one of the cheapest way to deal with hordes, is to ally with a couple of Gyrocopters.
2 of them are only 140 pts, and they can be equipped with the steam gun that deals 1 attack for each enemy model within 8".

Okay, what about putting a Saurus Warrior on a Dracoth with a big freaking stone maul to make a Seraphon version of the Concussors?

Acceptable, but you should remove their imagery

Well yes, I was planning on replacing all of the SCE imagery with Seraphon glyph plates. Can't sully my Seraphon with SCE armor and imagery...
