My friend recently gave me his unpainted Lizardmen army for free. I was greatly thrilled as I greatly enjoy painting.

Anyway, I recieved:

2 old blood/scar veterans,(1 on cold one)
2 skink priests
2 skink chiefs
30 skinks
1 slann
16 saurus
5 TG
8 CoR
1 salamandar
1 stegadon w/ bow
and 3 cham skinks

I just bought the Kroq-Gar model to use as the character or as an oldblood on carnosaur w/ scimitar of sun/maiming shield.

I was going to buy another stegadon to be an EoTG, and the battalion, making 2 18 man spear units of saurus, 3 5 man CoR units, and 3 units of 12 skinks w/ blow pipes.

Am I headed in the right direction and can you give me some guidance as I am new to the army. Thanks

What you are getting seems good but have you considered buying terradons and/or salamanders/razordons. they are expensive ($ not points) but are worth it if you've got money to spare.

Also CoR are either loved or hated by people. I would try a few matches with one unit before you buy any more.

Are you making a Magic heavy list or Close Combat heavy list?

Nevertheless, get a minimum of 4 terradons. They are great for just about everything now.
