AoS What to get for the Holidays

So I have a question regarding what I should get for the Holidays. So to the point, should I get either
A. A dread saurian
B. Two boxes of temple guard and an eternity warden

so in my mind both have pros and cons

for the dread saurian the pros are it would be fun to paint, could beat the shit out of any monster who crosses my path, and it looks awesome. The cons are storage, building it would be a hard process, and would o actually use it as I already have three carnosaurs

For the temple guard the pros are they look cool, they are the toughest infantry we have to offer, and have a strong counter attack. The cons are I already have saurus knights which are better in some situations and they have that extreme vulnerability to mortal wounds.


So any input is welcome as I really don’t know which to go for

i would normally say buy whatever but with all the talk of a new book we don't know if the guard are getting new models or not the dread on the other hand is a forge world model so less to worry about. as for me im holding off on buying any new seraphon untill we know whats going on

True true, and I’m already known at my local GW for having an absurd number of carnosaurs....

It is fun to paint, building it ain't that bad (i've had worse fw models). It will beat the living shit out of weak monsters but will get obliterated by the likes of Zombie Dragon and/or Terrorgheist. It's been pretty effective vs Maw-Krusha and Durthu/Treelord in my experience so far. Your biggest issue with the Dread Saurian will be the 280X210 Oval base. That thing won't fit where you want it to in most cases.

My saddest "highlight" to date is deepstriking with a Dread Saurian in a DT. Ended up in my own deployment zone because that awful base didn't fit anywhere.

So did i, in my mind getting the biggest baddest dinosaur out there is always worth it regardless of it's performance on the battlefield.

As an add-on to my previous comment, he is way more fragile than you think he is. On paper he looks sturdy but that feeling changes when you see 3 morrsarr guard kill it with only voltspears and biovoltaic blast (they have 2 more weapons they can use after that), and that unit only costs 170 pts...
