8th Ed. What Finecasts do you think the LM will get next?

Not what do you want them to get, but what do you think they WILL get if there is a second finecast wave in a few months time...?

I'm sure there will be a resin Slann in there, and as we only got 1 finecast model this time around where some armies got 3 or 4 I'd say we are likely to get at least a couple. My next guess would be Chakax, and then probably a couple of the more popular skink characters, a chief and a priest. If they did extend it as far as units rather than just characters, I'd expect to see either a resin Salamander or Kroxigor 3 to a box like the jezzails/flamers/etc.

So definately Slann, probably Chakax and perhaps a Skink priest, Skink chief, Salamander and/or Kroxigor.

That's what I think. What do you think?
 
Slann and salamander. They are the volume models that people actually want to use, although the sallie could use a resculpt or the old model re-released.

Our special character's are crap so there is no incentive for GW releasing a model that will be outsold by other races useful characters. Lizardmen characters just get used as generic characters so anything distinctive actually lowers sales.
 
I know a slann is definitely coming in resin. But yeah I don't really see too many of our metals as high enough sellers to warrant it. Chakax most likely because he is a very very cool model. Possibly sallie and razor, but again not too many sales.

Imagine the price of swarms in resin since all resin gets a price hike.. That would be the biggest rip in the game, and there is a lot of strong competition for that title. They probably won't get switched anytime soon though.
 
Would love to see a box of 3 Kroxigors for £30 in resin, like they've done for Treekin and Ushababababati. Would definitely get some of them (only got 2 real Kroxigors atm proxying in my Trolls when I do use them)

Not too fussed about sallys in resin (unless they do 3 for £30). They're fine in metal, and wouldn't benefit from resin really.

However, top of my wish list (and anyone's who's ever had to build them, and like I did this weekend, dropped them) are Terradons. Pinning and glueing the wings on those gits is the most awkward job I've had to do on a GW model. Resin Terradons would be awesome. (although I have my 4 now, so wouldn't buy any more, and perhaps that's why we'll never see them...)

Slann would also be nice as it's very top heavy on that flying base.
 
Luckily, I am almost finished with my Lizardmen army (purchasing anyway). I only need:

Chakax
Scar-vet battle standard bearer
Scar-vet/old blood on cold one

I could use 10 more Temple guard as well (but I could get away with converting 4 Saurus that I already have).

Btw, I have a total of 175 skinks (about half need paint).

Lots of Painting to do still.

All in all, I am seriously thinking of using Mantic models for future armies because of the price difference. The only all GW armies that I will have are my Lizardmen and my Ogre Kingdoms (have 3k of those without scrap launcher, gnoblars, and yhettis).

Agreed. And Perry's amazing Wars of the Roses models for humans. I'm not going to touch fineco$t with the price rise on it, plus the fragility of the material, the air bubbles in models, the mis-sculpts and the tendency to warp in warmer weather. Won't survive an Aussie summer.

I own all the models I need for my LM army, just need to finish assembling/painting it.

Edit: Also, found a list of what is coming in the next wave of resin models, on August 6th. Looks like I was right, and its just the Slann for LM.

Use epoxy resin and a bit of tinfoil as a moulded support so you don't have to hold the d*mned thing in place until it holds. Generall means you don't have to greenstuff the gap either.

Or go to any reasonable toyshop and get painted pterodon to have a terradon that doesn't look like a plucked chicken.

I havent found anything on gw site and the 6th is coming im getting worried
 
Yeah I'm going to stop saying the Slann is confirmed now.. Several people over on warseer are still saying it, but I think a few kits are already available in resin this month that weren't before, so maybe the Slann was a late withdrawal. Or maybe there will be more toward the end of the month and he will come then. Definitely the 6th seems to be no longer happening. Unless preorders start then for 2-3 weeks time maybe.
 
Bummber no Chakax on that list.
Would like to see a Krox deal like they did with the River Trolls box.
3 pack of Terradons in fine cast would be nice as well.

It is all just Wishful thinking.


and as a Dwarf player as well I have to say:

WTF Dwarf High King Thorgrim?
He is like 755 points, he is so expensive I could not even use him in an Ard' Boyz list!

I could use a couple more salamanders. I have 30 chameleons already (plus Oxytyl). And, I am proud to say that not one of those chameleons were bought at GW prices. Everyone of them came from ebay.
 
I hope that they make chamleon finecast before I buy them last unit i need to finish my army (besides the skink priest I'm going to get from stegadong box I hate metal).
 
Slann, Kroxigors. That would be great! Sallies soon after :) Don't think they'll ever make characters.... Too easy to convert.

If you do, I must ask: how much is a box of chamos normally (I'm trying to get a tough idea of the price difference.)

On another note, I think the sallies need a new model more than a resin release. They are the only model in the Lizzie range that I cannot stand the looks of. Terradons are perhaps more neccessary, as those wings are way too heavy in metal.

No, I live near Frederick MD (North West from Washington DC). As to the cost of a blister pack of Chameleons, they run about $16 locally. I won all mine from several different auctions on ebay. I know that I did not pay full price for any of them.

I'm from Australia.. Blister of 3 charmeleon skinks is $23, which roughly translates to 24.70USD, 15GBP or 17.25 euros.

The Tomb Kings got their Ushabti switched from individual metal blisters to a 3 model resin kit and actually went down in price a little bit, I'm pretty sure the only resin kit not to go up in price. I would hope/expect that kroxigors will get the same when they eventually go resin.
 
I think the same happened with the Wood Elf Treekin so there is definitely a precedent for our Kroxigors doing the same. I'd love to get some Krox but the fact they are in metal puts me off buying them, hate metal models!
 
WHat if they released it with model options for a champion like a crown or something beacuse the core units have them but idk about the other armys? just a thought
